In my Moms uterus not to be born for another 6months.....

Living in Vienna Austria at age 6. Was at the US Embassy movie theater when they stopped the movie for the announcement. Movie did not resume.

I wasn't even thought of then...Now I read & watch everything I can about it. The Country was changed that day & in my opinion has never fully recovered.

I can not understand the hatred someone must feel to do something so horrible to another person.

...I was in gene in the pool as they say, didn't take a breath of my own until 70'

I was in 5th grade in Mrs medera class. She came into the class room after being call to the office She was crying her eyes out.Mrs Medera explained to us that Kennedy has been injured. The class was dismissed and later learned he has died from a gun shot wound.I can remember watching it on a black and white Tv with only two channels to choose from and my favorite was Walter Chronkite. It was a sad day for our country

If you're referring to the day JFK was killed the title of this posting should read….Where were you November 22, 1963. I was in 5th grade.

Still a few years away from being a glimmer in my folks eyes

7th grade art class (not by my choice) and several guys yelled out and cheered. Sick bastards even back then.....but what to you expect from a school full of red neck aholes. Nothing against red necks but totally against aholes no matter what color their neck is!

7 years old. Home from school sick with a cold. Watched it all unfold (on black and white TV) with my Dad. I recall him saying, things will never be the same.

Grade 6,North Vancouver B.C. They closed the school and sent us all home. My Mom was watching the TV with tears in her eyes. Only time I ever saw her cry.

6th grade, Griffithsville Elementary School..teacher was Mrs. Bater.....Principal White walked the school making the announcement in person as there was no PA system back in the day.

5th grade, Friday was art class. Can remember neither the art teacher or regular teacher knew the the VP was. Everybody was afraid the Russians did it. I was pissed because they didn't have cartoons the next day.

3rd grade, Mrs. Bolton out stern, stoic 3rd grade teacher.
She came in after lunch (Hope, Rhode Island at the time) and told us the news.
She was in tears.
We stayed in school the rest of the day.

The "Day" America lost her innocence!

It would be just shy of a year before I rolled out of the assembly line and just two months before my mom and dad were to wed. Yep, they were cutting it close and people were counting the days very carefully. But it was legit.

My dad had just been discharged from the army, where he did some duty in FL during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a Presidential Honor Guard. Story has it if he would have reenlisted, he would have been one of the guys carrying Kennedy's casket. As he followed the incident unfold on TV, he realized it was his platoon that carried the casket and would most likely been part of that. I recall my dad saying "Kennedy was a good president." And this was coming from a Russian born in Communist China who had only been here a couple of years before being drafted.
