I lied. The poll was too one sided. Besides bangs and bumps theres header burns, radiator boil over gotchas and fan blade whacks.Oh oh oh and the ring and wrench burn when working on a battery. I think I work on cars cause i,m a closet masochist.

I drop tools all the damn time and it ALWAYS happens 1 of 3 ways

A) Drops somewhere and enters a blackhole never to be found again
B) Drops somewhere you have to be a contortionist to get back
C) Drops and rolls to the middle of the car where you just cant reach the damn thing and have to call a toddler or get the broom.

Head bumps.....two words....hood latch....enough said.

poll results said 25 to a 2.. Have to say i didn't think even one would show up...
"hood...latch" yep...

Guess that explains the leather wedding dress your bride wore.

I drop tools all the time, sometimes I have to work to actually get them back because they wedged into something and I can't reach it.

Not to change the direction, but how about when you open your hood at a friends house to show him your engine and he points out the 5/8" box wrench on the fender apron that you left there and it somehow didn't fall off while you were driving? Done that a couple times....

Oh yeah, i hit my head on the hood latch on the Coronet all the time, cause i am used to standing of to the left or right of center as my A body and C body had latches in the center,

I friggen dropped a wrench when taking the side panels of the 41 the other day, right on the fender, DOH, and of course i drop a wrench or socket when working on the motor of either car, and since they are lowered in the front, it makes it a very special occasion

yep all the time havent bumped head for a while but i have busted sum knuckles if that counts but I do have a cure for hafting to bend over to pick up what I drop. Its an old car speacker magnet on a stik...Artie

In 40 years, I've NEVER dropped a tool, or banged my head !!! .... Huh.. ? ... What ? ... Excuse me... I've just been told, I get amnesia from hitting my head so much, I've forgotten about the billion times I've lost tools & hit my head....... (Good thing I'm not bald, or I'd be called "Lumpy" )

What I hate the most is when the car is on a hoist and you walk into a tire, it almost sets you on your butt haha.
Care full with the hood latches they are deadly,my friends father was almost burned to death because of a hood latch. He was trying to start up a flooded carb when it backfired in his face,he jumped back hitting the hood and knocked it down on top of him, he couldn't get out because the hood latch got caught on his coveralls and the young kid laying on the key for him panicked and ran off.Lucky for him 2 guy's near buy ran over to see what all the noise was and saved him.He was burned very badly.

Somehow lost one of those spendy ratchet wrenches in my Satellite somewhere, don't know if I drove off with it on something or what, never found it. Darn 15$ wrench, still sour about that one.

I did that once, was doing trailer wiring on my truck and put a brand new pair of dikes on the bumper then drove off. I'm sure my neighbors were wondering about me when I kept walking down the block looking at the curb and street cussing like a sailor. They probably thought I finally went over the edge and started talking to myself (in public, that is).

Years ago, I was working in the engine compartment of a Buick Century, & the hood flew down onto the back of my head, & impaled the hood latch into my chin. To this day, when I drink a glass of water, I drip onto my shirt..........

OUCH, Impaled by a Buick!!! ROFL
What I really hate is when your goin good on job and you know your almost done. There's a cold one in the fridge with your name on it soon as your done. But then you drop that dam wrench or bolt into that friggin worm hole in the middle of your engine and you gotta spend 20 minutes trying to find that #@##@$%%# wrench and you only had 30 seconds of work left.
Then when you go to finish your guaranteed to hurt yourself cause your so pissed off you dropped that wrench!!!

Every car I've ever had has sockets or some other small tools that have fallen into some spot where they can never be retrieved. Sunday it was a socket that fell into the inner quarter inside the trunk. Socket was too short to fit over the stud on the back side of an emblem and there wasn't enough room for a deep well socket, so I had the socket sitting a little loosely on the socket wrench and...
Once I had to get the neighbor's 11 year old grandson with skinny arms get an entire socket wrench with extension and socket out of a front fender.

As for hitting my head on the hood latch, after a few divots on the back of my head, I eventually learned to put a foam can cozy on the latch when ever the hood is open.
