I just figured it out!
I don't drop any tolls til my wife comes in asked me a stupid question and screws up my mojo!
When she comes in to the garage to disrupt me, That's when I staert dropping the wrenches, nuts, bolts, washers, etc!
It's all her fault.
Who elses significant other makes them drop their tools and bolts?

My wife learned a long time ago not to come in the shop if I am working on something. She learned that the first time I asked her to help bleed the brakes. The code now is ring the phone twice when its time to eat, other than that, it's I see ya when I'm done or I've had enough.

Honestly, I NEVER bang my head! Really, no lie! What do you think the odds are that I will knock myself the **** out tomorrow? LOL! I like the can cozy idea! I usually dangle a piece of caution tape from the hood latch. I'm staring at the latch on my RR right now, and the term "skull-hook" comes to mind!

Well i guess that does happen, Im more to apt to drop them when she walks in and usually more confused after. Ive learned now that if i just tell her "give me the short version" Then im better off. As far as supper goes she knows when im hungry ill be there, we do have a micro-wave dear, feel free to put things away.

I got to test a portion of the "centerline" theory today. I was pulling the 9 1/4 from a 98 Dakota at a U pull. The bed had been removed. Withing 2 minutes, I dropped a line wrench, and sure enough....right to the center of thevehicle. It did not matter that the acess to said centerline was greatly simplified by the absense of the bed. I guess maybe I won that one, because the tool went to the center, but was actually easier to get because of it.

BTW- That's my "favorite" U-pull! Scored a 3.92 SG 9 1/4 AND Cal-Tracks for $100.

I bet this truck was spec ordered, too. 5.2, 5 speed, 3.92 SG, short cab/short bed, R/T wheels and flares. Black and had a dealer certified PCM reprogram sticker under the hood.
