I have never been and am just wondering what vendors with new restoration parts are there. I've seen videos of the great cars and heard it's a large swap meet, but what about new parts? I had a great time at Mopars in the Park, but with the tariffs I'm looking to stay in Canada this year? Just wondering if it's worth the 22 hour drive for the swap meet.

Ive never been

But have been told numerous times I needed to attend, it. At least once

And am thinking about going next year

The show is definitely worth it. The swap meet is mostly used parts with a few commercial vendors. Laysons used to show up, but stopped due to border issues. It kind of depends what type of new parts you are looking for .

Based on the last 2 years at the swap meet, I certainly would NOT drive 22 hours to attend. The organizers hiked the fees up quite a bit, and the vendors responded by staying away. I live less than 2 hours away, and plan to skip it. My beef is that they charge $50.00 for 2 days. I always go on the Saturday to get best pick of the swap meet. Lately, it has not taken too long to do the swap area, and I spend the rest of the day looking at cars at the show, and talking to friends. There is always a special display of cars in the nearby arena. I find no need to return the second day, so I pay $50.00 for the one day. By noon on Sunday, the vendors are pretty well packing up to return home. More and more new Chargers, Challengers, and trucks/Jeeps showing up, too.
Mopar Collectors Guide used to attend, selling subscriptions and T-shirts. Because of increasing border issues, they no longer do this. Rob Wolfe used to do photo shoots for possible inclusion in his magazine, but this also no longer happens.

We attended the show last year for the first time to help out Serge who is a very good customer of ours. The show last year was hampered greatly all three days of the event with severe thunder storms being in the area. In talking to Serge and some of the other vendors, the storms greatly impacted the turnout of vendors, cars and spectators. I do not recall anyone other than Serge with any real amount of new reproduction parts. Mr. Heaterbox was set up, but it seems that the majority of the other vendors were there selling used parts. So if your wanting to attend the show and pickup new parts at this show, I am afraid that the possibility of doing that is not great. With all of the tension between crossing the border with product, I am not sure on what all Serge will be offering this year. I know that last year, we brought up a couple thousand dollars of product to compliment what his inventory, but will probably leave it here this August and just come up and help Serge out.

If you should change your mind and decide to go back to the Mopars in the Park show, we will have one of our friends / vendor set up for that show.

If your intentions are in finding parts, personally, I would have to say that Carlisle in July would be the ultimate destination. I know that it means crossing the border, but the drive would not be that much more I would imagine than traveling to New Hamburg. And there is no Mopar show that compares in the size and scope that Carlisle does.

I attended the show in 2005. So I have nothing that would help as to what it currently is. It was a tremendous show at that time. It was the week after the Mopar Nationals in Columbus that year and we traveled from Columbus into Canada and then back to Alabama.

Went last year. Torrential rain. Others I went with said the vending area was very disappointing compared to prior years. I probably would not go again.

Due to the cross border issues we will not be driving to Carlisle this year. We always do go to Moparfest at least one day on the weekend. I didn't know you were there last year Richard. I'll make sure I look you up this year.

I do plan on going to Carlisle one day, but not this year. Who is Serge? Does he have a company or does he sell used parts? Does he have a website or Facebook? I'm thinking Moparfest may not be worth the trip, unless I add it to a vacation in the area. Thanks for your detailed reply.

My buddies and I have been going for the past 20 years. True that the number of newer Mopar's has gone up in recent years. The way I look at it is this - it's the biggest Mopar show in Southern Ontario and it comes around once a year so why not go.
I'm jealous of our US neighbours that have quite a few Mopar shows a year in different states.
We go on both days and drive back & forth over an hour each way as local hotels jack up their prices knowing full well they will booked up. Plus it's always good to see familiar faces and buddies you haven't seen in a while. On the Saturday night there used to be a burnout contest at the local Dodge (Chrysler) dealer in Kitchener but that hasn't happened for a bit now.
As far as vendors go - yes they have slowly been disappearing. National Moparts and Laysons used to vend but have not for a few years. A few vendors come up from the Montreal area with good stuff.

I attended the show in 2007, and at that time, it was an AWESOME show!!!!! There were a bunch of very nice looking cars there, the weather was great, the food was good, the people were great, and the rest rooms there were fairly clean and didn't stink to high heaven!!!(UNLIKE the NATS show the week before....LOL!!!!)

Going from the states into Canada was not a big issue. The Canadian Customs people were very friendly and were expeditious in their work. All of our paperwork was in good order according to them, and we only spent about an hour getting processed and on our way.

HOWEVER......trying to get back into the states from the show was an absolute nightmare!!!!

When we were trying to cross the bridge back into the states, I thought that this "ButterBean" lookin bald headed fat freak was going to throw us in jail just for trying to go back home. He kept DEMANDING paperwork for all of the contents of our showtruck and I gave him everything that was given to us by Canadian Customs when we initially entered into Canada......but NOOOOOOO....that just wasn't good enough for him!!!!! One of our other employees riding shotgun in the truck was curled up in the passenger seat in the fetal position fearing going to some Canadian jail cell....

After about an hour of back and forth with this freak, he FINALLY let us cross and be on our way.

NEVER......EVER....AGAIN!!!!!

PERIOD!!!!!

I remember when you guys were there, and I bought some stuff from you. I can only imagine that things will only be crazier at the border, now. From both sides. Too bad
