What She is doing in this opening picture is making measurements with a protractor at intervals on blade, referred to as stations, where the bends will be made to attain the desired pitch of blade.
On the blade sculpture Richen, Paul Added 18 degrees of pitch to the Hartzell Scimitar blade....it has a LOT of twist in it. The bending is all manual with very long & heavy breaker bar that clamps at each station to perform the desired bend to within 100ths of a degree at each station. Aluminum has a lot of flex & it takes huge amounts of pressure to reach the threshold where it will give & bend. It takes a hell of an amount of strength to reach that threshold, even with 8 - 10 foot breaker bars, & a very sensitive touch to not go too far past it.
