Buddy of mine flew for them in 14's, won a bunch of medals for his flying in the Bosnia Conflict. Transitioned the squadron over to 18's. Got out, flies for Fedex making big buck sleeping on overseas flights..

England's RAF, painted this one up, when their "tiger squadron" was deactivating the Phantoms out of service.
Marine squadron VMFP-3 disbanded in 1990, but shortly before retiring their RF4Bs, they repainted them back to nicer looking paint schemes of the 70s from the dull gray camouflaged schemes they had been using. However they painted one of their aircraft in a distinctive black paint scheme.
This Phantom is actually a German F4F. The German Air Force trained their F4 aircrews in cooperation with the USAF, at George Air Force Base in California, and then at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico after George AFB closed. The planes were painted in US markings.
