Lancaster bombers rolling along the Victory Aircraft (later Avro) assembly lines in Malton, Ontario. In case of production problems caused by German bombing, some factories were set up outside Britain. They were also closer to the Packard factory that was building the Merlin engines that powered it.

They cost $250,000 each and 75% of the workers were women.

The first completed aircraft, KB700, was completed in August 1943 and was named the Ruhr Express. It was ferried to England and by November was dropping bombs on Berlin.

They built 430 of them in Ontario, setting up the factory lines and starting just 16 months after the first blueprints arrived from London.
 
A pretty good display by a Boeing F-15 test pilot sitting in a Qatar Emiri Air Force jet at the Dubai air show this year.
 
These look like pretty nice rooms, they're interior shots of the Martin M-130, popularly known as the China Clipper.

This little doorway didn't lead to a cabin, it was a passage through the wings in case the engines needed attending during the flight.
