It would be tight and cramped inside, the B-17 was probably the smallest four engine bomber produced. But they made a lot of them.Years ago there was a fly-in at Hot Springs and we could tour a B17 and B24 inside and outside. I took some photos but didn’t label them so it’s possible I may have 1 or 2 under the wrong plane. I do remember crawling through the B17 was a regular obstacle course of different levels and tight squeezes. By comparison the B24 was almost roomy. My mothers youngest brother died in a B24 in WWII

B24 in next post.
What a stud of an airplane.
Nine Oh Nine crashed several years ago due to half assed maintence and pilot error. I was supposed to fly on Her in 2016 but got rained out. The B-24 is currently painted as Witchcraft. As a result of the B-17 crash, Collings isn't flying their planes anymore.

7 people died in the crash. That’s a sad ending to 909. I hate to hear that.
Wow! You get a good idea of the size of the Galaxy, when it is parked with a Hercules.
Oil change?
Used to like to see them lined up and take off out of Stewart Airport (Newburgh, NY) when visiting friends in Orange County.Wow! You get a good idea of the size of the Galaxy, when it is parked with a Hercules.
