Interesting... 'round the little town where I spent my teenage years, the fastest car on the street was very similar - a 55 150 business Coupe with a 440 6 BBL out of a rolled 69 1/2 Roadrunner. Had a flip front fiberglass front end and a 'tube' bumper on back. Was a 4 speed car at first and then TorqueFlite for more consistency and less part breakage. Guy changed colours on the car every so often...How about a MoPar powered Chebby , circa 1970.
