What temperatures are you seeing? Do you have an accurate gauge? What size radiator? 22 inch? 26inch?

I just put a 26" Champion aluminum three-core in my Roadrunner. I had my car idling in the garage for close to an hour when it was pushing 90 degrees last weekend, so there was zero airflow other than the fan and it was hot as balls in there, and the temp gauge stayed right where it should be.

I'm running a Be Cool radiator, very nice rad. Don't know how they figure their ratings though???? Mine was advertised for 350 hp motors but being 2 1" wide cores I knew better than that, runs 180 all day long with about 500 hp behind it.

Ma Mopar made the best. 26" Copper. Thermal fan with shroud.

My Big Block always runs cool now. I run a 26" Champion 3-core. I also have (2) 12-inch Maradyne electric fans that can pull 1600 CFM each. Cooling is not my problem any longer.

Temp will get to 200 then slowly creep up 210 and hotter if I sit in traffic too long I make sure I am moving if I see it going past 200

If your temp is good at freeway speeds then I'd look into your fan setup. The mechanical fans biggest draw back is when you need it most (idling in traffic) it's putting out the least amount of air. I'm running dual fans that put out 2,700 cfm together and you can literally watch the temps drop when they turn on and that's 2,700 rpm when you need it most.

I was going to use the clutch fan that was on the 360 that was in my car, but the clutch was going out. When I bought my parts car, a previous owner had put a non-clutched aftermarket fan on. Since it had been a FL car, I figured the fan must have worked, so I kept it on the engine and it's been working fine.

I spent big bucks on a Be Cool aluminum radiator. 69 Dart with a 440 can get really hot. It works great but sometimes the fuse blows for the electric fan. I bought a Ron Francis wiring harness with an extra fuse block. We'll see how that goes.

440 + .030, JE forged 10.25 to 1, A&A aluminum cross ram, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Flowcool water pump, Be Cool 26”, 160 stat. Dual Spal 2300 each fans. Runs 190/200 on mild day and may go 210. Not happy with Be Cool—considering ECP 22” with Mopar shroud and mechanical fan. Why not, I’ve tried everything else!

Have you tried using a bottle
or two of Water Wetter?
It helps lower temperatures by reducing or eliminating bubbles or vapor barrier that form on hot metal surfaces
by reducing the surface
tension of the radiator fluid.
Cheap fix if it works for you.

after a champion ran 230 in summer in fl i went with griffin best ever 210 at a 5 min red light then 30 mph down to 175 best i ever had.

Glen-ray for original look and Engineered Cooling Products (speedcooling.com) for Aluminum.
I have a 26" in one my 70 Chargers works great and the factory shroud bolted right to it. A friend put a 22"
in his 69 Coronet with a low deck stroker and solved his cooling issues. At less than $300 ECP it's an easy choice.

I have US radiator. 22 inch. I have been very happy with it. Far from inexpensive but the car runs cool.
