I have read that running a leaded fuel can clogg the 02 sensor of a wide band gauge .

With the crazy retarded potential price of gas this summer in Ontario. I am getting pretty annoyed with the price of premium getting up to 2.30 - 2.50L or who knows what range .

I have some access to some 100LL avgas and have done some reading that explains how to blend regular 87 pump gas and avgas to get desired octane rating . But also read some stuff about killing sensors ? I run an AEM wide band was just wondering if it's going to shorten the life of the sensor considerably.

I don't put a lot of KM on the car each summer but still wondering?

Just pondering

Access to 100LL, let me know where it's cheaper than that Premium ! Lake Simcoe Regional is currently selling theirs at $2.80/l. I had my 2200 liter tank filled just over a week ago and it cost me almost double what it did a year ago. All in was $2.50/l, just over 5 grand to fill my tank. It went up another 12 cents in the past week.

The lead WILL kill the O2 sensor. The question is, how long will it take?
I would tune it with the wide band, then pull the sensor out and plug the hole.

Edit. and the Arizona avgas I buy is about a buck a gallon less than california 91.

Not that the AVgas is cheaper than premium . But running a 70 /30 mix , pump / AV. Would be cheaper than filling up only on premium and I could even get a few extra octane points depending how u blend it . I think to hit the same 91 octane I only need 80/20 blend .

I'm going to watch the prices and see what happens . They also said we were going to be 1.90 L like 3 years which never happened, so who knows. THe world is really f'ed up right now I don't count anything out.

IT would be easy enough to just pull the the sensor.
