After a ton of farting around, taking it off and back on for adjustments, it's in place, the hole in the hood skin cut out. Finally. I think it looks great. It's shorter and narrower than the stock Hemi Scoop. I did put in the general shape of the scoop indented into the surface as a suggestion of the look of the stock scoop. A little filler to smooth out the imperfections and presto, it's a scoop in steel. Total cost..: $20.00. :bananaweed::bananaweed::D

It looks great!! Will it bolt on or plug weld it with hole in the hood and welded to the flange on the scoop

The funny thing, hilarious really, lol, is that I futzed around with a open end wrench on the end of a stick trying to get the rearmost bolts in and tightened. All I had to do was cut the damn hole in the freaking hood first. I'm an idiot. I cut the hole last. DUH. That's TBI for ya. It's why I'm unemployable. Stupid *** **** like that. lol.

Is there a "caulk/filler/ paste" type stuff to put in-between the hood skin and the outside bottom edge of the scoop? That can get painted over?

Looks great wish I could make one similar. I do a small radius on corners and sides at slight angle, but that's me. You've got some serious talent.

Thanks. I wish I had thought of that when I was bending it up. It would look 'righter' if they were, I agree...lol.

I think it would bring you problems later on with paint chipping off the filler or caulk. Paint both hood, scoop and the bottom of the scoop, then mount the scoop back down. Trim the hole in the hood after painting with this.

Sanded down the rough spots and gouges/ scrapes dents and applied filler. Underside is finished with metal work/ filler and ready to take 1st coat of epoxy primer.

First pass before I ran out of steam. Fighting a stomach bug. My arms, which usually have no issues, felt like noodles..lol. Time for a sit down, maybe a nap. lol.

My arms were like....I need to get an orbital sander,,lol.

Thanks! I have been sanding and filling. Bought another roll of 120 long board paper and a gallon of grey primer filler surface sealer.

Finish the little bit of filler and sanding on the bottom front of the quarters and then get a coat on it and see where I'm at. This stuff is supposed to fill ij sanding marks and such really well. I have the work down to 600 grit but still.. Front fenders are ready, engine bay /cowl ready, jams ready, from the doors back needs a bit more. Especially on the passenger side. I need to pick up some lacquer thinner to cut this paint with. I already have black epoxy primer but the grey shows the spots that need work a lot better plus it's high build sealer too.
