Sent my Weiand intake off to Phoenix Specialty Coatings for Leanna to slap some love on it. Hope it looks new when I get it back!

Got my new pushrods in the mail. Installed the passenger side and then realized I hadn't cleaned the rockers really well yet. So, working on that and on making sure I assemble the damn things correctly so the oiling works...lol.

Question:

Since I'm not using heat right off the bat is there any reason I cannot plug every hole on the water pump? Also noticed that the water pump bolts are scraping against the inside edge of the aluminum pulley. So, I guess i'll be grinding those down a tad bit..

Touched up the corners of those water pump bolts and the pulley spins freely now. Torqued down the crank bolt and mounted the pulley, the alternator bracket, installed the pushrods, rockers and sanded down the aluminum fan and masked off to spray Hemi Orange. Busy morning. lol.

Looking great!!!

Just a note from the chick in the cheap seats, but those chrome water necks are notorious for leaks. If yours has an O-ring, take it out, toss it in the trash and fill up the groove with RTV silicone before your final assembly. It's more likely to work right.

Thanks for the tip! I was aware of that. It's not on there yet permanently though, just mocked up. Bought some new bolts and washers and was trying them for size and length in the mounting holes.

More pics of my work today. Took the old fan from the front of the 440 when it was in the 1986 Power Ram and cleaned it all up and sanded it. Masked off and painted Hemi Orange. Turned out to be a nice fan!.

Cleaned up the PS pump, pump mounting bracket and adjustment arm. primed and painted VHT high temp Wrinkle Black. Bolted on the mount, waiting for the pump to very dry before I handle it. Sitting in the full sun on the tailgate...

You're making me slightly nervous with that flex fan, Ghost...

Got the pump mounted and the correct thickness spacers so the pulley lines up straight. Should do fine.

I didn't have good experience with the chrome water outlet. Tried several things but it always leaked. My brother had the same experience.
If you have an original cast housing I'd recommend using it.
Thanks for the pictures!

I do not have one. This came with the 440, and wasn't leaking before I pulled the motor.

Ordered Champion spark plugs, a temp thermostat and bought some more small bits for the motor.

Contacted Dakota digital to see if they have any way to convert the temp signal to pulse for the Audi dash.
