Two years out of high school I wanted a new 64 Sport Fury badly--by the time I saved a down payment, the 64's were out of production and the 65's would be out in about a month. Went to Matt Buhl Chrysler-Plymouth in Wyandotte, Michigan and ordered a new 65 Belvedere II, Medium Red Metallic, Black interior, 383 4-bbl, 4-speed (didn't have the extra $70 for a Sure-Grip, so got the 3:23 open rear-end). With tax, the car was $2,765 out-the-door. One year later, Uncle Sam knocked on the front door and I sold that car to a buddy. We never forget our first love and thus, this is now my 3rd 65 Plymouth B-Body.

66 coronet convertible....900 plus My 64 Barracuda(barracuda was very poor)

1st B-body I owned was purchased in '75....paid $500 for a 1970 Plymouth GTX, 440-4bbl, 4-speed, fresh air hood, B5 blue with black vinyl top, black stripes, black bucket seat with console interior. I bought it from the original owner in Anita, IA

I bought a 71 charger in 1987 shortly after I turned 16. It was a nice car for $700 back then. It had a decent black paint job, nice vinyl top, 318, auto, bench, working A/C, fat cragar mags with white letter tires. It was originaly b7 blue with a b5 interior. I drove it off and on til '95 when I pulled the engine and tranny for a 440/727. That was a mistake. Never done anything with it after that. It had a powerbulge hood on it for a long time, that I bought at a local junkyard for $30 or so. Sold the hood a few years ago. Next spring I'm going to put the 318 back in it and make it roadworthy. Its the one on the left in the pic. spy cam.jpg

mine was a 1970 dodge coronet rt i got it in 1986 when i turned 16 it was a real rot bucket but it ran and drove i wasn't allowed to drive it though because my mom said the insurance company wouldn't cover me with that kind of car. i used to sneak it out when my mom wasn't home a 16 year old kid should not drive a car with a 440 for his first car i almost killed myself a ton of times in that car. well i guess i had it coming because we had a real bad storm and a tree fell on it and destroyed it and that was the end of my first mopar.

My first b body was a 66 Coronet 440 4 door with a 318 wide block. I got it from my mom in 76 when she bought a newer car, 77 Granada. I was in high school working on weekends and saved up to put a 400 police interceptor my cousin scored me while working at a dodge dealer. His brother sold me his Super stock torqflite with manual shift valve body as he was selling off his race parts. Talk about right place at the right time. Second was a 67 Coronet 500 but only had it for a short time because the lower control arm broke. That's when I scored a 70 Hemi GTX 4 speed car. It was just a rolling chassis and had a 440 previously so I dropped my 400 in it. I drove it for years. I picked up my current b body in 88. It is a 67 Coronet R/T which I stiil have. What a journey, 37 years of mopar heaven, and don't regret a minute of it.

Well I hate to tell you but my first B Body was (still have it) a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere "9" under the "A" Max Wedge Super Stocker that was fitted with the Ali front by it's then owners the Milne Brothers Plymouth Centre Pasadena. Raced from day one it was shipped to Australia Nov 64, long story short, my dad raced it in the 70's, sold it 76 and we found it and got it back 97.

SuperBeeSki may have seen my first B body-

1966 Coronet 440. White with blue interior Poly 318 and power windows.

Was for sale across the street and down a few blocks from Renaissance Records on Smithville RD in 1984. $500

Across from the AF museum on Airway RD at the oil change shop (grease monkey?) was a 1967 Coronet 440 White with a red interior.

Rumor has it that both cars were owned by brothers when new.

First B-body was a '66 Belvedere I cop car that came out of Mississippi, in 1976. It was a 383 auto, smooth vinyl seats, rubber floor mats, no radio (did have the HD heater, weird for MS), 140 mph certified speedo, 2.94 SG 8-3/4" axle, XHD suspension and brakes - basically a Hemi four door minus the Hemi. It was originally white with tan interior, but the guy I bought it from (for $50.00) painted the car light green.

mine was and still is a 70 b5 blue charger bought it 15 years ago (damn that 15 yrs went fast) for $5000

My 1st was a 65 Belvedere,bg block stick, cragars with N50's in the rear with Gabriel hyjackerz,,,,,,,,,,,,,
There is a pic in the high school year book with me under the hood,LMOL

Believe it or not my first B body was a 1970 Superbird when I was in high school in 1986. I bought it for $700. 440 auto, grey primed. The guy before me totalled out the nose and put a roadrunner nose on it with the air grabber hood. He also kept the rear wing which left the mounting holes above the rear quarter open to the weather. I would get water in the truck after a rainstorm. Being 17 years old I proceeded to thrash it to death. If only I had a clue back then.

Went with a buddy to look at a 74 RR that was parked for years in a garage in Phoenix. The garage door was opened up to reveal a car with boxes and crap stacked to the ceiling and the suspension crying. I looked at my friend and said if you don't buy it I'm gonna. He bought it, we drug it to his house only to discover a cracked block. A month passed and I got a call asking if I still wanted it for the $275 he paid, I said yes. I pulled the 318 out at the auto hobby shop on base and had fresh heads waiting, checked it over put in fresh soft plugs and JB welded it, 1/4" away from the head surface to 1/2" from the pan surface. Ran it like that for 3 years and it ran like a scalded cat. Still haven't been in a SB car that has matched its performance. I picked up a 75 RR same colors as the 74 for $325 had a crank sunroof and needed an axle bearing (1986). Paid $75 for a clean 73 Cuda shell from a guy building a 71 Cuda from the hobby shop, same year.

65' Belevedere two, two door. With the 225 stick shift, and no radio from the factory. This was in 78' and a trade in at the dealer. I put very little money into her, and drove it every where. Sold it to an employee in 82'. The last I saw her the rust had taken a tole. I loved her, she didn't owe me a dime.

1968 Charger 440 auto.... bought it in 1970 had it until Nov. of 1979 when it was stolen from the parking lot of our apartment complex. :angryfire: .I never found a nut, bolt, or any part of it ..last one I had a shot at was about 12 years ago nice one for 7 grand..NOW the prices have risen to a price I can't justify spending ...so now I have an 1:18 sitting on the shelf until I hit the Lottery :hello2:
