Iwas ruined at an early age. My dad was a designer at Chrysler. During 1963 he went on the executive lease plan. His 1st lease was a 64 Chrysler 300K 4 speed, then a 65 Baracuda Formula S. Fast forward to 1969. I'm 15 and my dad says there are all new Baracuda's and a new car called the Challenger. We go down to Hamtramack to take a look. There in the shipping yard are hundreds of E-bodys. My dad say's "i think I'll order a Lemon Twist 440-Cuda". I say no, we need a Plum Crazy Challenger. A month or so later my dad comes home with the lease order form, Hands it to me and say's you pick. My eyes light up, Challenger R/T SE, hemi , 4speed ,4.10 ,shaker, power windows, the works. Dad loks and say's, Hemi aaahhhh well OK, 4.10 NO, 4 Spped, No. Everthing else flew (shaker didn't come but was ordered). Got my learners permit in it, got my license test in it, abused it. It went back to Chrysler after a year and 8000 HARD miles. Never saw it again. A couple of years latter I bough a beater 68 Road Runer 4 speed with a 440 and a iron 6 pack. I've had a Chrysler hot rod of some type for 44 consecutive years since.
