Yup....the MIGHTY slanted 6, column shift automatic, factory radio delete, high trim level interior, 3-spd wipers, cloth/vinyl seats.....when I found the buildsheet, the burlap over the seat springs was in PERFECT condition....no rodents ever....
That's a gem.. And i noticed the chrome around the windows i was curious bout the trim levelYup....the MIGHTY slanted 6, column shift automatic, factory radio delete, high trim level interior, 3-spd wipers, cloth/vinyl seats.....when I found the buildsheet, the burlap over the seat springs was in PERFECT condition....no rodents ever....
Yeah… $10k wouldn’t cover a hood.A 70' Charger front fender... lol.
i LOVE the 40s cars soo much (cause of cold war motors mainly) But the thought of a straight 6 trying it's hardest to get to 50mph makes me sad inside...I would stay away from the so-called Malaise-era cars and go further back into the '60s, '50s, or '40s eras.
For example:

I was just looking this morning actually and found a really good one for 7500.. which shuld mean 6700ish.. 69, green.. AC 318 with a 8 3/4 looked all stock but not restored so would need to be gone through.. if i didn't have my car it would be a consideration..Can I get a 67-69 Barracuda notchback?
I'd like your 62 better. But that might be cause I've got a 62 too.I should have looked for a Coronet when i got my car.. a '67 coronet was my first cat.. slant six with giant rust holes... drove the piss outa that thing
I'm not in love with it or enthused to even drive it I don't know why....I'd like your 62 better. But that might be cause I've got a 62 too.
Here ya go Cept they put dual exhaust on it wtf...A mid 70's mint condition probably under 50k miles C body. Big New Yorker, Imperial coupe, something like that.
With the leftover money, because there would probably be close to 3k leftover, I would put a new top on the 440. Maybe not heads, might have to home job those, but the rest including a cam could easily go on. Plus might even be enough that way to make sure the AC still works.
If I get a green or brown one probably enough leftover to buy new heads and then a giant steak dinner too after lol.
Non-mopar?
80's monte carlo project in good shape but needs an engine. Then I would swap a poncho 455 or olds 455 into it. Or maybe an LQ4 6.0 with the leftover money. Wife really likes those cars.
Or maybe an old Warlock if I could find one reasonable. In the rust belt any of those with a decent body people think they are worth a gold mine. Further south people seem to understand it's still just a truck.
When i bought my car i made a hard limit of 10k to start.. i found a '69 notchback cali car for 11 and said NOPE! and ended up with mine instead.. next time my limit would be 15k.. you can get some really nice stuff for a little moreA little over spec'ed budget, but.....
I found an 47 Austin gasser, complete running car with an LS, turbo 400, 9"ford rear, custom dash, for 12,500.
I was thisclose, till I realized I already have way, WAY too many cars and projects now, and common sense prevailed.
That's a really good year too and 2dr..A couple more under $10K.....Known Cars For Sale | Five Point Parts

$6,500
This is a very nice survivor car.
Pale Yellow on Green.
107k original miles with a 383 2bbl & Auto Transmission.
Runs, drives & stops excellent.
Some rare options are the Tortoise Grain Vinyl Top, Rim Blow Steering Wheel, Telescopic Steering Column & Cloth Interior.
The body is overall very solid.
Has a few blisters on the trunk floor, but not rusted through, (see pics).
Power Steering, Manual Brakes.
Will need a windshield eventually, has a small crack.
This car is very solid and doesn't need much as it is in daily driver condition now.
Yes, I paid $1500.00 for mine and put about another $1500.00 into it over the years. Runs and drives awesome also.Big ole C body. Good bang for the buck
