Looking to sell my 63 Fury Max Wedge, serial number listed in Darrell Davis books.
Has original fender tag.
63 max wedge block, heads, intake, carbs. Date codes do not match build date of car.
Engine redone with a 4.15 stroke crank, search under max wedge stroker to see details for engine build...
I ordered and paid for a speedometer ratio reducer in January, I have not received anything from them. They will not respond to emails or calls, They have not refunded my money when requested. After 8 months I filed a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
I have a 19 spline converter that was in my max wedge . The car would barely run with it so it was changed to a high stall when the engine was rebuilt. I think it is a stock stall speed ( 1200 -1400 rpm ? ). If anybody can use it and pick it up you can have it for free. I am in Lancaster , Pa.
I ordered and paid for a .80 reducer about a month ago, it has not shown up yet. I was told that would be a couple of weeks for the gears to come in and it would be made then. Sent an email for information and it took 6 months before I recieved a response.
When I first got my Max Wedge it ran fine but, all power was at the bottom and was over around 5000 rpm. The engine was built with 9-1 compression, 1963 286 heads with 81cc chambers, comp cams 21-213-4, 260H, original crossram, original carbs.
I ended up rebuilding the engine as a stroker, I...
No, they are not the same. 62 is a b-body, 63 is a a-body. 62 will be a 8 3/4" with spring perches at 44", 63 will have spring perches at 43". Overall width of the 63 will be slighty narrower flange to flange (not including the backing plates) than the 62, I believe it will be about 5/8". I am...
There are two different sets af lines, one for the 3447 (early MW ) and the other for the 3705 ( later MW ) carbs. Fuel inlet is different location on the carbs. You most likely have the lines for the 3447 carbs and need the one for the 3705 carbs.
I had a problem with mufflers balooning ( and actually splitting one at the seam ) about 40 years ago, they were not turbo mufflers though. The problem ended up being the mufflers were installed backwards, being dierctional the backpressure built up.
Looking for a speedometer ratio reducer for 62-65 727 trans. I am also looking for a 21 tooth speedometer pinion gear for the same. I want to get my speedometer working in my 63 Fury. I have looked into having one made that would work, just would prefer original...Thanks
I have checked into this car. I would like to have a 62 Dodge Max Wedge, I have no interest in is car. From the research I have done, it does not appear to be a factory built Max Wedge.
Pics are posted in my photo album, still looks no different than when the pics were posted.
The crossram is designed to work in the 5600 to 5800 rpm range, the engine would most likely make more power with a Nascar single 4 intake or the Mopar Max Wedge single plane 4 barrel intake that is...
Rebuilt my Max Wedge as a stroker. I am posting this for reference.

The pad stamping tells you when the block was machined/assembled. The casting date on the side of the block is just that, the date when the block was cast. The pad stamping date can be a good while after the casting date. On my engine, the casting was Sept 62, the pad stamp is Dec 62.
