I'm going from a 225/904 to a 5.2 Magnum/727 in my Coronet. The car has an 8 1/4 rear and I need to know a few things. Is the driveshaft the same length or does it need cut down? I know I will need to change to a 727 yoke. Is the length difference in the yoke and not the shaft? I've done a...
I have two 6X9's in boxes sitting on my back seat and they give me plenty of sound. Even though my car is a 4door, nobody sits back there anyway. I can just unplug them and stick them in the trunk when I go to shows. I'm going to put them in the package tray when I do the interior next spring...
Great looking Charger and welcome from Columbus! Steer and Gear are some pretty good people and are Mopar specialist. They're on the east side here and do great work!
Love the car! Looks like a nice solid example to boot. I personally love the 4doors as much as the 2door variety and 68's are beautiful from behind. That is unless you happen to be the ford or chevy guy has to look at them every time they smoke ya down the track ;)
I noticed you have a cut code tag on your keys and was wondering if it's the original to the car or a reproduction? I had a Dart Sport that came with them and I had to have a key made when I locked my keys in the car. The guy at the dealership was very surprised to see the tag was still with the...
Thanks for the info guys. That web site has just about everything a person needs to know about doing a swap to a magnum engine! I'm used to doing LA engines, so this is new waters for me.
Ok guys, need some help on doing a swap. I'm wanting to pull out my slant6 from my 72 Coronet and stick in a 94 5.2 Magnum from my Dakota. I'm going with a carb set up and I have a nice 727 to use. What I need to figure out is:
1: Is the 5.2 internally balanced like the 318 LA, and can I swap...
I'm not too crazy about their plans for this car. I could see if it was just a 318 auto car, but not a 340/4spd. There was no mention of it being a numbers matching car or not, but everything did look untouched. As for it being a "rare" TX-9 car, i'm sure Chrysler didn't bother to hand pick...
Welcome to the site. That's a great looking 71 you have. I can understand being hooked when you first saw it. I was too when I first saw my 72 :headbang:
I would deffinetly go with the 71! The aftermarket offers more suspension parts for 71-72 than 73-74 models. Everything for a Roadrunner or Charger will fit under there too. Use as much of the 73 as you can cause these cars are getting harder to find. Got some pics?
These shows are nothing but hollywood fluff for entertainment value only. The sad thing is the poor shmo that watches and thinks "Hey, I can do that!" and then gets in over his head. The project usually ends up on Craigslist for some un-Godly amount. They never say anything about the rust...
I think Butterscotch would look pretty cool with a black interior. Of course with the original gold interior would look good too. You don't see that color combo too often.
I knew a guy who had a 68 Charger with no engine and tried to tell me it was a real Hemi car. A quick look at the vin and the tiny front drums told a different story. Some guys can't help it I guess
