You say no clock, stock radio. If your comment about the needle occasionally indicating slightly to discharge, and that's with car turned off, that's a clue that somethings wrong. With car off, should be no current draw on battery whatsoever, unless some accessory requires 12 V to keep alive...
But seriously Doorkicker..... See what alternator the car originally came equipped with and verify what you have. Likely a 60-75 amp alternator. If electrical things have been added, look up the specs on them to see what the max current draw is at nominal 12 Volts. Seriously doubt it going to...
Can't say about it being the correct booster, but... you can do a rebuild with parts from here.

Worst part is getting under dash to remove and reinstall.
Here's a video showing "The Points" opening and closing that wind the clock for the first generation Charger , takes a few seconds but watch carefully, as it happens quickly. The clock movement is similar, but has slight different between a 66 and 67 model year clock. The 66 model has...

He ya go..... I did it to my 66 Charger. I planned it in a way that I thought would be minimally invasive to the original wiring in the car. Attached is schematic and detailed written description of how I did it. Also are pix of where I mounted the flasher and relays under the dash. I would...
Mechanical regulators don't have capability to make small adjustments to what is passed to field coil of alternator. The solid state regulator is much better than the mechanical one. Voltage and current are two different things, related, but not the same. If only the engine is running, there is...
Shortly after I got my 66 Charger w/383 back in 2010, it had just over 78 K original miles on it. I had the push rod issue. Being away from these cars for some 50 years, had to totally re-educate myself as to these 60's era cars. I was dumbfounded as to why it would randomly stall out while...
Hey Captain, You should consider having your gauges and cluster refurbished, it the coolest thing about these first gen Chargers. Contact Todd, he does repairs and restorations of these and does excellent work. Home - Todd's Restorations
No sure, but you may need to remove the...
Across manufacturers, the current draw of a choke heater coil will vary. Initially, the coil will draw more current until it warms up, then the current will reduce when hot. Typically the coils current draw is a few amps cold then when hot, (choke open) reduces to less than 1 amp. Many folks...
Does anybody recognize these wheels ? Brand & model ? I get asked about them at car cruises all the time. They were on on the car when I got it back in 2010. 14" Wheel components are welded and chromed, Center cap is a plastic of some type, chromed and snaps on center hub.
