The best car photo ever and why you like it.

Sure, let’s bring this thread back up, besides what’s a car without a story? I thought I posted this here in September but apparently not. My GTX at my parents place in Lubbock. They worked hard and even though they’re 4hrs away now, I’m glad they have a place they’re both happy with. And I...

    Four speed input shaft troubles

Bust out the drill and hog out that crank. The hole doesn't need to be precise, just large enough and deep enough to clear the input shaft.

    The Roach

I bought a nice single DIN Kenwood with HD radio, USB, and Bluetooth, Alpine Amp, Kenwood speakers and a powered compact sub for the Coronet. It sounds very good but I don't use it much. I went cheaper on the Cuda with Boss Audio radio and Kicker speakers no Amp or sub. It sounded good...

Screwed and Glued in Torque Boxes?

    1. The screws are in case/when the glue fails, you don't have to stop the car and run back and to pick up the torque boxes in the road before another driver runs over them. 2. Be sure you use the right glue when you install your PVC subframe connectors 3. But to save weight don't forget any...

How risky is removing and reinstalling a cam bearing if oil hole isn’t aligned?

I have and I bit the bullet and bought another set. The risk is not worth it no matter what the build.

How risky is removing and reinstalling a cam bearing if oil hole isn’t aligned?

I should clarify and state this is a super low buck junkyard LS pulled for another project. Not my nice 512.

    Federal or Saginaw ps pump?

I may be mistaken but seems I remember gtx6970 has a Saginaw pump on his 66 Hemi. You might check with him. If I’m wrong you can point a finger at me to blame for the bad lead. If it were me I would contact Steer and Gear and talk to them about rebuilding your TRW pump. I don’t think that...

How risky is removing and reinstalling a cam bearing if oil hole isn’t aligned?

I have heard you can do it, assuming it’s not damaged and placed in the same bore. But I also understand that if it loses material on the back it has the potential to be looser. I just hate to have to buy a whole new set because one was tapped in a slight bit too far and had to come out. I was...

Didn’t say it was a dog, just not much you can do to it without costing more money than worth the gain. Like trying to beef up a 318.

How risky is removing and reinstalling a cam bearing if oil hole isn’t aligned?

If you want to run the risk of trashing the block, then knock yourself out and re-install the bearing. I would get another set and install a new bearing myself!

I think you answered your own question.

How risky is removing and reinstalling a cam bearing if oil hole isn’t aligned?

I know it’s not the best practice…but let’s say I misaligned the oil hole on a cam bearing. How risky is pressing it back out and reinstalling it in the same bore? Possible that it’s fine, or high risk for a spun bearing? It seemed to fit tight, just not as tight as the first install. This is...

Post up facts and things that hardly anyone knows...... (for entertainment purposes only. NO need to fact check)

The only settlement established by samurai outside of Japan — and the first Japanese colony in North America — was the Wakamatsu Tea and Silk Colony in Gold Hill, California. Established on June 8, 1869, the settlement was comprised of 22 people from samurai families (they even brought their...
