Check the fuel filter sock on the pickup in the tank. I had this problem before when the tank was full of rust and crud. The filter was full of junk, would suck shut and engine would die. Wait 10 min or so for filter to re-expand and engine would start and run for 10-15 min or so before cutting...

Ok. Its done. I ran fuel tank near empty, put some 93 octane and octane booster in it and really bumped up the timing. Wow....Night and day difference. I also apparently didn't have the brake prop valve turned all the way down either. I gave it a little more fuel at idle, turned up the idle and...
Pull the covers, find the "soft" one, pull the lifter and take it apart. Clean it all out, put it back together and then put it in a spray can lid full of oil. Use a drill press or arbour to cycle the lifter up and down until it pumps solid, put it back in.
I had some small items ship from Ontario for $17-ish. $17 CAD is a helluva lot cheaper than $25+ USD, not much from USA ships for less than that shipping cost, which works out to $40-ish. :) Furthermore, shipping within Canada doesn't require a Customs declaration form, and a bubble envelope for...
