I would suggest you need to tune a little more or change the gears as 132 seems a little low for your setup, my car with the old 440, .590 cam was pulling 130-132 with 600 hp, yours as got to be at least 650
It sounds like it's nosing over, have you tried shifting a little lower you may be surprised, also get your timing up to at least 34 degrees. What gears are in it ?
I found the CE 90/10's to be too stiff on my car, I use the calvert 90/10's and Afco doubles on the rear, is the front binding at all ? as said you car should be running around 1.50 60 ft times, my old 3800#challenger ran 11.83 at 113 best and that would 60ft 1.59-62 with a 4200 converter. What...
What is the rest of your combo, heads, pistons, comp, intake, carb.. I ran JE domes, just under 13.1, MCH ported RPM's, victor int, 1050 dom, 4.56 dana, 5000 ultimate converter.
69 Dart GTS 440, 3200# SS springs clamped, dana 4.56, ultimate converter 5000 stall, .590 purple shaft, MCH ported RPM's milled to 76 cc, J E dome pistons, victor intake 1050 dominator 31x10.5 hoosier slicks, best et in sig on poor track but good air. Motor destroyed itself last autumn after...
Nothing personal but i think 429 hp is high for your car with that mph. My full weight challenger has ran 113 at the track and makes right at 450 hp on the wallace calc.
I also agree that your cam and carb are too small, i would try either an 850 or 950 holley dp on it and watch your speed and...
Ran a pb in my 70 challenger today, previous outing, ran a pb 12.35 with a bog off the line. This meet ran a 12.31 still with the bog, so i swapped my HP 950 on that used to be on my Dart, ran 11.86, then backed it up with a 11.83 and picked up 1 mph.
My set up is quite similar to yours, i have a bit more comp and better rods, you have a bit more lift and raised port heads, i have a dana on SS springs, which i now wish i'd changed for ladders or 4 link and i have tubular uppers. I gained more from afco doubles on the rear, my best 60ft is...
Took my 70 challenger out last weekend ran a 12.35 at 111 mph best with a 1.82 60ft
full weight car, at a guess at least 3800 with driver, 440 with hyd cam, think it's around .500, dont know comp but it runs on pump without issues, full port 906 heads no flow numbers, victor int, 850 dp, reverse...
Sorry, sometimes i'm lazy when it comes to reading long threads. I run the mopar.590, 31" tyres, shift at 62-300, hit the limiter ut the line 6700, with your gears i would probably be 63-400 at the line. Do you run a 4500 intake or an adaptor because if you run a 4500 you could try a 2"...
Congrats, it's a great feeling the first time you break into the 10's. Your numbers are all right in line according to the wallace calc, if it's a bracket car then just keep as is. If you're looking for more et, maybe bigger carb, try more timing, adjustable shocks will help the 60ft times. If...
