1964 Plymouth Savoy Build

Are your wheels 14"? I tried putting poverty caps on my rear wheels and they will not fit. Mine are 15"
Yes my fronts are the original front wheels, the savoy wheels had the bigger hub caps 9” if I remember. My rear wheels are 15x10 and I had the bigger hub cap centers welded to the rim. The don’t have 15” rims with the bigger hub caps

Went to the Budweiser Employee Appreciation Car Show at the Budweiser plant on Roscoe and Haskell just this past Saturday. I was very proud that they wanted my car displayed in the Keg Room! Had a great time and it was a great event for Employees and Free !

Also making a holding stand for my air cleaners and velocity stacks, So when I’m driving the car it will have the air cleaners on and when I’m displaying it I put the velocity stacks on, made the wood and countersinked earth magnets in the base of the wood so it sticks hard to the trunk floor. Got it mocked up and works good, I’ll paint it and wrap it with felt to keep it from scratching anything.

A friend of mine found that one last year at MATS in Vegas and gave it to me as a gift. Yeah I’ve been displaying mine ever since. It’s pretty cool and I like it. Need to read it though lol! I’m sure there is good information in it. I also have the original owners manual and service book too I need to take out of storage and display as well. Thanks Chuck

In Lake Havasu City this weekend for Run to the Sun car show, Great show and nice people having a good time. Very few Mopar’s here. Maybe 5 out of like 700. But still nice. People love the Savoy but most do not know what it is. I think I need a billboard of some sort showing what a max wedge is and a Factory Production Drag Car that you could order from the dealer. I think I’ll work on doing that next. Enjoy

Chuck, that's what makes these mid-60's Mopars so Cool ! Limited number of them out there, hard to find parts to restore, but when they're done, POW !!!!!!

Jeff does a great job. He no longer does the PVC boards but rather a retractable. Comes in a nice carrying case that fits right up against your driver's inside quarter.

It’s been a long time coming but I finally saved up enough money to have my original Savoy steering wheel recast with all new plastic. It’s a process done by Dennis at Quality Restorations Inc.

Here are some pictures of what it looked like prior to the recast, it was all broken and cracked with sections missing all the way to the metal frame. Quality Restorations removes all the old plastic from metal frame and remolds all new plastic in the original pattern. It looks amazing and a wonderful job. I’m very pleased with it and it was done in less time than estimated. I will attach the steering wheel tomorrow and post more pictures.
