1968 Coronet 500 Project

Lets see that bad boy on all fours!!

I hate fabricating stuff... but I finally have it mostly done. Bought the FiTech 35 micron filter. It is really small, just what I wanted. Ran pressure and return line all the way to the throttle body. Went to the auto body supply store and bought the plastic push in pins to hold allow me to mount the new hose clamps without modifying the body. A couple rubber grommets win the frame and I have run and mostly mounted the 2 lines without modifying the body. I have not drilled or modified anything.

Ran out of clamps! Need an order to Summit to finish up. This is the factory mounting point.

This is the only place I still need to think about how to support..... It took two 20ft rolls of PTFE -6 AN fuel line to finish. The return is a single line, front to back and the pressure only has the break for the filter.

The wiring under the car is finished and a few grommets through the existing trunk plugs make it all nice and tidy without modifying the car... The tank is installed, utilizing the stock vent pipes. PLEASE, PLEASE don't leak....

Painted the break drums red, sloppy just like the factory.

Dave at Precision Machine replaced the U-Joints so I painted and installed the drive shaft so now I can work on the exhaust since I now have a center reference point.

Damn gorgeous car.
I might drive down to see it when in SoCal this Spring. But, you can throw a rock into Mexico if I have it right. That's a long way from LA.

I am in Southern Arizona. Just north of Nogales. Long way from LA

Went out to think about tomorrows jobs to tackle. Need to installed my O2 sensor. I am on the fence, would you weld or clamp your bung hole?

I decided to weld my bung hole closed.... All done with the exhaust I am ready to clamp it fast. Also installed the shifter linkage. TTI exhausts and headers claim you have to cut the pivot plate, flip it over and weld it. That would suck, Accurate Exhaust fits perfectly with space to spare. Need to run the oldest to singing lessons in town. Not sure if I will get it outside today. The clouds rolled in and it is windy.

That is one gorgeous car! I am impressed with the craftsmanship and extent you go to make it as perfect as can be. I had a 68 Bee in high school , original from factory and mine wasn't half the car you have built.

My dad was a John Deere mechanic and taught me "Do it right or you get to do it again..."

Ok the Exhaust is in other than the LH hanger. The Accurate Exhaust was a flimsy universal bracket, I am on the search for a used 49 year old one so the left side hangs a bit lower than the right and the tail pipe is a bit crooked looking at the back. All will be fixed when I find my bracket.
