1969 Charger R/T resurrection

Sounds like a good idea H2E...I would imagine seeing them up close will really give you a good idea vs. a picture on a computer screen. With this weather it's hard to believe we'll ever take the cars out, let alone go to a car show. Talking bigger snow storm Wed night-Thurs night. Hopefully it blows over.

Very interesting, I have never used the MS products and I'm surprised to hear they make a poly prime. I've used the evercoat offerings and the clausen poly prime products but I wasn't sure how many others were offering a polyester primer.

Also H2E, If it's the farmington show you are talking about, I'm trying really hard to be able to attend that one with my root beer float road runner.

That is the show Dave. I'll be on the lookout for the tin chicken.

I'm gonna try really hard to be there with my road runner.

We'll all have to trade contact info when the show gets closer so we can look each other up down there if it works out.

Went to the local dealer to get some pics. of a 2013 RAM in copperhead pearl. It is about impossible to get a decent outdoor shot of this color. When the sun is out the reflection turns the picture white, so I tried on a overcast day and this is the best I can get. Just by moving a little bit changes the color quite a bit.

Well I for one am very impressed by the work I see and wish to say 'thanks' for sharing your pride and joy and work.

Very nice! I was going that direction with the roadrunner until I discovered that my engine, trans and body stampings matched up with my VIN.... Then I changed my mind and decided to go with my original color (T7) instead.

So, I'll just drive a brown Plymouth I guess while you turn all the heads with your super freaky copper.

What was that color you were going to use before you decided on the T7? Seems so long ago now. My motor is not original, so I feel ok making a color change. You really think it is freaky? Like in a good way?

Some before and after pics. of the console tops I just finished up. Stripped them down, sprayed on fresh black semi-gloss, and replaced the imitation wood grain. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Hey those look awesome! And yes I meant super freaky in a very good way.

I was looking at a basecoat by kirker called sunburnt copper pearl. I actually purchased it and now I'm just hanging onto it for what ever project comes along that it will work on.

Console top looks top notch. There's a dodge p/u in town here that is that same color. AWESOME

I bought my 1st of 3 1970 RRs in June of 1970, paid $1600 for it. It had 30k on it already cause the guy drove long distances a lot. It had black steel plain rims and Goodyear Bluestreak slicks on the back. I guess he thru the dog bowl hub caps away. Don't have pictures of it but here is a pic of one just like it/the same color. I don't think they made many this color apparently, I haven't seen many/any except this one anyway. What is this color called?

FK5 in 1970. I think that is kind of close to these newer colors but without the pearl. I've seen so many pictures that people claim are FK5 and look totally different from each other. So I am not exactly sure what the original would be like.

Super sharp Color H2E. Digging it!

I'm just hanging onto it for what ever project comes along that it will work on.

Don't you have a Galaxie that would look sharp on?

from oldest to newest.... 51 2 door ford , 54 2 door chev, 62 2 door galaxie, 64 2 door galaxie, 66 2 door chev caprice or one of 3 different mid 70's F series trucks.

I'll have to flip a coin or throw a dart or something but it will get used one one of these projects.

Only thing for sure is this modern copper as pictured on the new ram truck would be awesome on H2E's car.

But what color wouldn't?

How bout metallic labrador yard biscuit brown? (T7) ?

lol!!

I'm trying to be brave here... a brown hot rod.... could be cool?

lmao!!

It was the direction I was going with my bird when I veered off in the bronze tint a bit and settled for my kirker sun burnt copper.

I had a victory bike with that orange and it was really cool.
