1969 Charger R/T resurrection

Hunt, look into Adams Polishes they have a line that is awesome and many videos on using their products. The LX crowd uses them a great deal and they have the great buckets with inserts for doing the two bucket wash method. Another great way to dry your car is with an inexpensive electric leaf blower, saves on wiping or even touching your car.

here is the link for Adam's http://www.adamspolishes.com/default.aspx

I'll check into that. I don't like to ever wash my old cars. Guess I might go a little overboard, but after seeing how these things rust I would rather not even get them wet.

Looking absolutely BAD @SS man!! She was obviously looking mean as hell to begin with but what a difference those wheels and meaty tires made, can't wait to see it sitting back on the ground!

Your car is really coming together fast now. The pictures of before and after the wet sanding / buffing really show the difference it made. Personally I'm glad you decided to go ahead and buff it out. The wheel choice and tire size are perfect too.

Absolutely stunning !!!! Great job !!!!

You will have it on the road in no time now..................

I swear this car is going to make me start drinking. The lug nuts showed up from Summit today that replaced the previously sent wrong style. They come 5 to a bag, so they sent me out 4 bags - no problem right? I open the box and find one bag with 5 and the other 3 bags with only 4 inside. Back on the phone to Summit who tell me that this kind of thing happens sometimes. Really? Why always to me? So another bag is in the mail to me.

I do kind of like the way the lugs are set up. Although a unilug, they are not the same as in the old days which is the same as the new Crager SS's. These Klassics have an oval washer that is recessed into the wheel. I think it is a much better set up than the standard design with an oblong washer that cams between a couple of high spots on the rim.

3 missing lugs didn't stop me from mounting them up though. Still playing with the ride height, but this is with about 1" rake. Nobody has to tell me the car is very dirty, but I thought you guys might want to see a couple of pics.

I looked and looked and couldn't find a dirty, dusty car. All I saw was a thing of beauty with gorgeous wheels sitting on all fours.

Hey H2E . . . It's incredible ( only because I can't think of "better" word to describe your masterpiece ! ) . . . "Almost" ready to go . . . Very Nicely Done ! ! !

Looks great, it's got that timeless beauty aura about it, ha ha just kidding, it's freakin' bad *** period.
Seriously though, make sure you get good insurance, your starting to scare me a bit..

Can't say it much better than that! Lol! You've really created a masterpiece Joel, and I hope my Charger will be even half as gorgeous as yours when it's done. Truly inspiring stuff, cheers brother!

Oh and I don't remember seeing you post anything about taking it out for a drive yet, my buddy Mike said the rear end of his Roadrunner settled about an inch just taking it for a spin the first time so you may have to tweak the stance a little again anyway. :shruggy: but either way I really love how you've got it sitting now, looks ready for a good "tire break-in!"

Damn - didn't know we could use letters for the hard of seeing on this site lol. I might have to start using them all the time as I can actually see them without my glasses on. Thanks for the kind words.

Glad I could help out. This is a great site for motivation and getting questions answered about things we know nothing about. Bunch of great guys around here. Let me know if you want those measurements of the skid plate if you end up wanting to make one.

Thanks for the compliment. I do have to admit that the wife picked a fine looking combo on this one.

Thanks Speedy - yours will be just as nice if not better than this jalopy. No driving yet, still waiting for my windshield guy to get back over to try to seal that up. Until that happens I don't want to finish the interior. I wouldn't mind if the rear dropped an inch at all. I used the same hd springs on here as my Road Runner, but cant remember if they settled. The passenger rear sits about 3/8" higher than the drivers on account of the extra leaf on that side.

I swear your car looks better every time you post, gotta be getting super close now? Again we share in our terrible luck, I got my wheels yesterday and they sent 7/16" lug nuts instead of 1/2.
