My 16 year old son and I are swapping in a 1969 date coded 440 and the sure-grip rear from a donor Chrysler that has the AC and brackets with a 2949054 Radiator. We drove it the old 300 and then tore it down, motor has 27k miles and looks new. We want to put a single plane intake, bigger carb and a cam that still produces vacuum. We are mating all this with 1969 Coronet HT body with Factory A\C, PS, PB (was a 318 automatic car )and an A833 4speed, We have the correct 11" bell housing 2892626, hump and the pedal setup. We are wondering which 143 tooth flywheel to use, Motor is bone stock with 10.1 factory compression. Not wanting to port these heads as they are original and perfect but am considering it. Looking for cam and flywheel opinions and considering buying a COMP xe2274h or 268h kit from comp cams with all the lifters, timing chain, etc. , want the lopey idle, not sure if we are using HP exhaust manifold or long tube headers, maybe some magnaflow exhaust. Want about replacement dampers? My mechanic suggested fluid.....Any suggestions are appreciated.

Stock balancer for you build will be adequate, spend you money elsewhere. Nothing the matter with a Fluid Damper, I use them, you just don't need it. Single plane with that mild a cam is not a good fit. No better street 4 barrel intake than the Edelbrock Performer RPM.That cam is pretty mild. How much rear gear?

I am using suregrip from the 1969 Chrysler 300 the engine came from, have not checked code on that yet, probably low but I'm thinking 3:50 range to be able to drive to car shows

Then defiantly the Performer RPM. Cam choice may not have a lot of lope but is probably not a bad choice. The 268 has been around awhile and though small is a good profile.
