1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

Threw the rear bumper on, needs a re chrome at some point.

Those would look nice all shined up.

3wood do you remember if the rear bumper brackets to the body took 7/16 or 1/2 bolts? Might put mine on this weekend.

I used the bumpers to practice with the polisher. Used a wool pad and chrome polish and attacked it. They shine up nice. Just have some rust pits that if you get the rest shiny enough it blinds you and you can't see the pits :)

I'll clean them up at some point. Both I had to straighten to some degree. The rear has some rust on the top but otherwise looks good. The front I need to work some more as the splash shield doesn't fit quite right.

I stopped by a trim shop today and I am going to have them make covers for both front seats. The old vinyl is stiff and the driver side has tears so I figured to do both so the front matches. $120 per seat ain't bad.

Does anyone have an extra seat back panel they would sell? I was missing one from the get go, thanks.

Wow, sounds like a great price! Better jump on that.

Did they say what quality vinyl they use?

We went through a couple bolts of vinyl to find the right grain. I didn't ask about quality but it felt really soft and had the white, stitched backing. I thought it was a good price as Legendary sets are around $400 a set.

Lipstick on a hog....

Repop taillight housing are around $700. Yea, no. So for now I cleaned up what I could and resprayed the silver and black accent. New seals and in it went. My tailpanel is in the same shape and even more for a repop.

And the front bumper is in place. It was a pain to get the lines to match. Same condition as the rear, some rust spots. And my all inclusive front rear bumper bolt set was 6 short so it is being held on by 2 for now. Garage is shut because it is raining cats and dogs.

I would really like to rechrome everything too but now it has been off it will come off easy to get it redone a few items at a time in the future.

Yea, but finding someone to fill pits and repair pot metal might as well be asking Michaelangelo to paint my portrait. Cheaper to get repops, at least for my year GTX.

If I go to the HEMI show in Pheonix bring your screwdriver. I'll distract them and you can get nice show quality trim for your car.

That's tomorrow, right? Dang, I may not be able to make it. Gotta work in the a.m. and am going to el centro to meet a girl

The more I look at these rims, the more I think I will probably use them. Still need centercaps but it will save me $450. I don't know what width they are is the problem. There are 255/60 R15s on them now. How tight would it be to stuff 275/60 R 15 on the rear? Or should I go with 255/70 R15?

Might just stick with the 255s as I don't want to go too tall a tire with 3.55 gearing. And Mickey Thompson makes a drag radial in 255/60R15
