1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

Got the driver seat cover installed. Shop did a pretty good job without having the seat frame to go off. Used hog rings all around. I still need to cover the back panel. I reused the old foam as it wasn't really bad. I did put in new seat bottom burlap (I used army sand bags lol).

Not bad for $120

Cool, now you can recover my drivers seat when you come to put in the windshield.

You better have a lot of beer!

The worse part about the seat was threading that stupid wire through the burlap. I do that to make it look factory yet I use chinese turn signal sockets :realcrazy:

Finally got the hoist together and picked the motor from my suv to the engine stand.

And my new to do pile...engine and trans. Engine is going to have to wait as my transmission parts have been ordered. Plus I paid $1400 for the assembled shortblock so money is tight for the next few days.

One seat back done and screwed in. I also got the seat installed in the car....sure is comfy!

Looking good!!! What cam & intake are you going with?

Hughes solid lifter STL3842BS3-9 (238/242) and the EDM lifters.

Still on the fence with intake. I prefer the Edelbrock Performer RPM but it creates hood issues. The Holley Street Dominator is next on my list as it is shorter and delivers similar performance.

Your cam is very similar to mine, other than mine is a solid roller and probably has more lift. I hear the mopar M1 is a very good intake.

everything is looking great. but i have a question, any one know why the hell did my alerts stop showing up for this and a few other threads? i had to think to myself, this morning "thats weird, i havent seen an alert come up for tetanus in a while" so i manually searched and found new posts for 3 pages. WTF the last alert for this thread i got was about those stupidly expensive rims 69 found...

Yeah I've seen that problem too recently on various threads

ya its seems a work around is if i reply to a thread i have to click "watch thread" then instead of just looking for alerts i have to got to my watched threads pages adn see if any new posts have showed up there.

I noticed that if i get an alert and i highlight it to see which one but don't go to the page, the alerts stop until i visit the page again. Might be for traffic management?

Check out this article on intakes...

The M1 is stated as being a high rpm intake and did make plenty of power. I'm not sure it would be the best for street though. The Dominator performed well and works well off idle for a single plane. The RPM obviously has a lower, wider power band being a dual plane. But the height is a concern and really there isn't a whole lot of difference. It seems 50/50 on which ones people recommend. I still have time to decide but I don't see a downside to either.

The Weiand Action + looks like a good street choice.

And so it begins....

Teardown of the 727. New parts: Complete rebuild kit, new mrrandy billet LR servo and Front Kickdown servo, Transgo TF2, new sprag rollers/springs, 5800rpm governor, heavy duty band strut, 3.8 lever.

I will start with the Transgo TF2 install and get it out of the way. I pulled the pan (which is pitted and have a new one on the way) and removed the valve body. Inside isn't bad. Took some pics but the service manual and Monroe's book will be fine for reference. Cleaned up the parts with mineral spirits/atf mix and a paint brush.

I got a max wedge governor for my set up. Allows shifts at 5800 @ WOT. easy to install. Thought I'd tell you about it while your in the tranny. Got mine from CRT (Cope racing transmissions).

That's what I have on order from A&A, same order was $10 cheaper from them. Going to get my converter from Copes though. On my 62, installed the Max wedge kit ftom tflitepatty and lathed the outer shell down...1-2 and 2-3 are dead nuts on at 5800 with stock line pressure. I am hoping with the increased pressure I can grt wot shifts in the 6000rpm range in the 440. I am probably going to order a solid L/R red band as well. The kit came with a flex band.
