1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

Nada....Cup towards the bushing....Poly vs rubber no difference I had several cars with polls installed the same...

Pic is from my X before removal for the first time in it's life....

I have no doubt the factory did it that way, but on more than a few bushing kits they are stamped "this side toward rubber" on the convex side like these from Mancini...

Mixing it up a bit. I have red door cards ordered and eventually I will get red seats. I like the red and black contrast.

I am finally getting around to installing the O2 sensor so i can hook up the gauge and fine tune my fuel. I got the complete kit from AEM during Black Friday for a very nice discount....figured it wasn't doing me any good sitting on the workbench lol

And I installed removable fitting on my exhaust for just such an occasion...I hate exhaust work as is but this makes it easier to cut and weld the bung. It is going in the collector because there is no way i am pulling a header. I mounted on the passenger side facing the tunnel as there is plenty of room to tilt it up. The driver side is pretty packed and the outside has the torsion bars in the way.

I ran the plug and harness up over the tailshaft and along the speedo cable, using zip-ties to keep it in place.

I'll finish up tomorrow with the interior wiring and figure out a place to mount the gauge. :)

There is no other way to tune it up! I have been dialing in my EFI this weekend to get rid of a bit of a long crank at startup in the morning and a bog if you stomp it from a low idle.

Success. Wiring was not painful and everything seems to work.

Now for the data....
Idle - During warm up it was lean which with my cam and single plane air gap I kind of expected. But after warm up it settled to 13.4 to 13.8.

Mid Throttle / cruise - part throttle and cruise seemed lean, from 15.5 to 16.0

3/4 hard throttle - 13.4 to 13.7

WOT - seemed pretty consistent at 12.2 to 12.3. Should I lean out the secondaries a touch?

What do you think and what adjustments should I make?

Nice job on the O2 wiring. I installed the O2 on the outside of the collector and it just barely clears the T bar.

I'd leave everything alone except I might try to fatten up the mid throttle to 13.5-14.5. But all that can change day to day with the weather.

I swapped in a new set of rods and the low / med cruise is now 14.5 to 15.4

Sounds better, did you have any surging @ 15.5-16?

No surging that I noticed. It was a lower rpm, lower speed range that it was leaning out to 16 so I was not there a whole lot. Maybe 25 to 35 mph with light throttle. Cruising at 65 is in the 13.5 to 13.8 at 3000rpm.

I was gonna ask if you'd been on a road trip to check mileage, but I think I remembered your speedo doesn't work.

Lol, it is still unhooked. Pulling the cluster is a pita. I could probably get mileage with the speedo app on my phone I just haven't taken a far road trip in it yet. I've been 20 to 30 miles and that's about it...maybe I'll get it out Sunday. :)
