1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

I received my speedo back from being repaired so I swapped them out today. The one I had repaired was a spare but I set the the odometer to the same mileage as the original before sending it off.

The biggest pain is removing the lower switch panel. I heated the pad up with a heat gun and pushed it out from behind.

The best tool for the lower pad nuts is a thumb drive ratchet. Because getting back there is a chore.

New speedo installed. No resto on the gauge faces, I'll leave that work for Tim :)

And here is a close up of my voltmeter conversion. Tim has a nice detailed instructional in his thread.

And after it was together I took it for a drive and no speedo workie! So I dilly dallied with the cable on both ends and finally got it to hook up and work. With a 30 tooth it is pretty close and close enough for me....I am use to driving by my tach and don't even look at it lol.

And I noticed my fuel and temp gauge were reading high after driving around so I messed with that and found out that a ground screw was stripped out in back...that was not fun but I did get everything working correctly.

And I figured the scenery was perfect for some pictures. These are dedicated to my snowed in northern Mopar brethren :)

Sure rub it in..... Don't worry we'll be enjoying 80's while it's 100 down there

And for $38.49 shipped I bought a wifi inspection camera. The technology today is amazing! This little guy hooks up to wifi so you use your phone or tab, or ipad device as the monitor. Good for checking chambers, manifolds, under the dash and it is waterproof so I suppose you can run it to your water pump to see vane condition. Great shop tool.

If only I was tech savvy enough to use it.......

Super easy. Download the app for it, connect it to your WiFi and turn on the camera. I looked in cylinders 1 and 5 and took pics....bit of carbon on the pistons. Pics are on my tablet at home.

Here is a pic of mine and Jim's cars at the H.E.M.I. show, Jim took first place in his class and it was well deserved.

And here is a video that @Billccm took of my run on the dyno. The first pull the operator cut it short so I actually had four. For some reason my car was winding up to 6k very fast from top gear so the pulls were all just a few seconds. It was a fun experience and glad to meet the AZ crew finally.

You should be proud. I know guys that have spent 13 to 15 grand on their big block mopar motors and don t get the numbers you got. I'm impressed.

I'm happy that your GTX did well! I'm waiting on that Willwood disc brake kit...

What were your numbers I can't read the picture?

What were your numbers I can't read the picture?

Max HP = 395.3
Max Tq = 637.3 (I doubt that is correct lol)

They didn't clip on anything under the hood for rpms, so the curve is weird as the HP and TQ don't cross either.

Those are great #s!

Thanks! I was happy with it before. It was my first engine build where I picked out the parts and assembled everything (except the shortblock that my machine shop assembled).
