1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

Playing with my new toy.....

After getting home from work, pulled in the garage and hit the upper and lower hoses with the temp gun. 180° thermostat. It seemed to open at about 182° and dropped to 173° after it closed. Temp of the thermostat housing was 198°

Upper hose...

I also took readings at the front of the radiator from top to bottom and it cools off really well.

Can you measure each spark plug boot and each side' exhaust? My 1 and 2 plug boots measure 200F, and the rest of the plug boots measure 234 to 236F. Exhaust manifold collector on driver's side is 530F, and passenger side 594F.
I know you have headers, but interested in your results.

Got my car back from the blaster. I was confused when he told me the price.....$392!!! He said the old paint flew right off lol. Granted he didn't do the trunk or the roof and left the e coated panels alone, but wow. Didn't get any pics before I put it away tonight after getting about 70% of the media cleaned up. A few pin holes of rust in the pass side floor, front and rear and some in the pass side drip channel. And the pass fender has a skim coat of bondo, backside feels pretty good so probably a minor scrape. The headlight area had been touched (which I knew) so I will need to fix it. Besides the rust, the car is very straight. Here are a few pics I took while awaiting the tow...

Yea, I'll get some numbers today hopefully.

Your radiator is showing a 45F delta. I measured 46F delta with my new radiator and shroud. Previous with 3 core and no shroud was 30F delta.

I can assume the new 2 core radiator and shroud improved cooling another 15 degrees.

Are you trying to confuse me with delta?....because it worked lol. That is temp drop right? I believe you are correct. Mine is a 2 core, 1" with those numbers. 15 degrees is a nice improvement with yours!

Great find definitely following your build

Thanks! This is the build that keeps on going lol. I keep finding things to improve upon or get fixed....which is me being bored not having anything to do. I am eagerly awaiting my eternally backordered door cards to get the interior finished...been waiting since Nov. I didn't realize red vinyl had become a scarce commodity:mad:

I thought he was referring to a secret special opps team you were on.

Right? He could have just said 45 degrees cooler but nooooooo! He got all fancy :luvplace:

I shipped out that switch 2 days ago via usps so you should be seeing it today or tomorrow.

Yes, thanks! Payment & gift coming your way in the mail tonight.

I would be interested in how much drop in temp you can get on say a 95-100 degree day?

Sorry. I've been proofreading qualification reports all week. Nomenclature and terms are important and I just stayed in that mode on my FBBO replies. You are correct in temperature difference, or drop was referred to as Delta.

Ordered a Dr. Diff 10.95" front manual disc brake kit....so more stuff to do.

Getting my street drag radials put on today....scratch that. I just ordered two new rims so I can swap out rears without a mount and balance every time.

And still waiting for my interior door panels from YearWhenever.

Good choice. You'll like the Dr Diff braking. Did you buy the 15/16 master cylinder?
My car will be totally turn key when I buy it from you. Thanks!

Yes, 15/16". He said it was a longer and lighter push than the larger cylinder.

Front disc brake kit has arrived. Ordered from Dr. Diff. The rotors showed up from Rockauto and are listed for a 1978 Dodge Aspen so the rest of the parts probably follow suit. Looks easy enough and all parts are there. These are for manual brakes and I ordered the 15/16" master cylinder plus the correct proportioning valve.
