BTW can you share with us your technique to place that upper right nut on the master cylinder mounting stud?
Other than hearing that it's difficult I never really hear how it's done. I actually taped the nut to my fingertip to get it started on the threads.

I used a short 1/2" socket, flex joint and extension. Put the nut in the socket and raise it into position and get it started by turning the extension.

Sounds like the correct way, but can't seem to ever get it started that way. I know many b body cars are out there without this nut in place.

Have you done any lock up test with the brakes? My rear brakes seem well behaved at panic stops below 45mph. Haven't tried higher speeds.

I've mashed it a few times and no lock up, just a couple chirps from the rear tires. And these were 35 to 45 mph.

Now I have lost a few nuts doing this. They slip off the socket and drop straight down behind the carpet and vanish lol.

Finally got the Nittos mounted. Boy I was being lazy. Haven't had a chance to test them yet, just washed her after mounting the wheels.

My door panels ordered from Year one last year finally shipped.

Drove the X today, 103 degrees in highway and city driving without any heat issues.

Damn, only 103* while driving! Did the thermostat open, lol!!

I'm hoping it did :)

While I wait for my door panels, I had ordered and received a new fuel pressure regulator. The one I replaced was a Quick Fuel (same as the Holley model) and my issues with it were 1) Erratic pressure. The needle would quickly bounce between 4 and 7 psi so it wasn't rock steady anymore, and 2) It was noisy. And by noisy I mean it would thump and groan when charged by the pump. Here is what I replaced...

And here is the new Aeromotive 13205 (5 to 12 psi) regulator in action...

The thumping noise is gone. Now I only hear the pumps steady hum. And so far the needle is rock steady at 6 psi. The adjustment is almost all the way in so I'm not certain the spring is stiff enough to get 12 psi but it works for my purpose. The hookup, including the bracket, is the same as the QFT fpr so installation was a snap. It even has a gauge port, which I have clocked so 6 psi is at 6 o'clock.

Nice work Mark!

Thanks. I had the hardest time picking a regulator out as they are either dirt cheap of a couple hundred dollars. The Aeromotive was $112 vs. the QFT $27 and so far so good. Replacing parts on these cars is a weekly chore lol.

How is your 64 coming along?

Even with the best intentions to get out in the garage and finish up the welding it seems that the wife, work, kids and grand kids limit my garage time.

I still need a lot more practice time with my welder before I would really feel comfortable with doing the finish welding. For now though I'm just going to blame it on a cheap welder and maybe go buy a new one.

Any reason to buy new tools and equipment is a plus! Take your time and have fun on it. I still have that BB pushbutton trans in my garage. No reason to swap the poly out yet.

Car looks great. Nice work and good to see it out on the road again.

I sold it the same way that I got it. The guy I got it from never touched it either, backburner on the list of things. Probably hadn't had anything done to it since about 1998.

The 1/4 panels were from around 2005 IIRC.

Rob, good to see you on the forum and thanks for the comment. I'm driving the hell out of it. I hope everything is going well for you :)
