1969 Road Runner facelift

I had suspected my car did not have any stripe options on the hood.

Verified by my 383 badges being removed for the first time.

T7 Bronze under those badges.

My daughter ran an angle die grinder with rol lok pads to remove old paint and funk from the passenger door hinge area.

I like my car, but I like it a little better now that my daughter has done a little chunk of work for me on the car.

nah,i'm one of the easiest people to get along with.you're luky to have a daughter that wants to help out.teach her and let her learn as much as dhe wants to about cars.

Well it certainly meant a lot to me.

Got more done tonight, it's looking good.

That is awesome, the car is looking great and it is nice to see the occasional pic of a kid hanging with her dad out in the garage!

Hey guys, wayyyy back when I hung the quarter skins we had some talk about top weld vs side weld for the joint/seam.

If you flip back through the pages here you will see I chose a top seam on my RR. Having done side seam before on a different B-body of this vintage before, I can say with high confidence that I like the top seam better for hanging quarter skins on these cars.

Leveling the surfaces surrounding the weld areas has been very easy with the top seam weld on this road runner. I'm very happy with my decision to use a top weld.

I thought I'd report that finding this morning before I head out to the shop with my coffee.

I want very badly to get some primer on the main body of the car this weekend.

dave-we also want to see some primer on that bird.

I'm trying really hard, I really hit it hard today although it's hard to tell.

Spent all day out in the shop, dammit it's one of those days where you had to be here to see what got done.

A lot did get done, we're getting really close to primer on the main body.

Lots of sanding today, windshield trays were a lot of work with trim clip screws that had to be drilled out etc...

Tedious day.

Epoxy prime soon.

Very tired, drink beer time is now...

Thanks, long ways to go but the epoxy prime will keep me from chasing flash rust and it paves the way for finer levels of body work, sealer and PAINT!!

This is a one piece alum torque thrust polished.

Thinkin about 15x8.5 with 3.75" backspace for the rear, 15x7 up front.

275/60 in back, and something like a 215/70 or 225 up front.

What do ya think of the wheel?

Damn Dave....Freaking Mad Man. Good work! You must be bushed after all that hard work. She's looking sweet man!

As far as the rims.....:icon_thumright:

Thanks.

I have pain in spaces that I didn't realize I occupied.

The trunk lid has to come off to have the underside srtipped/primed/painted. But I wanted to get the topside sealed up. That's all I really have here is a sealed shell, It's a little better than "roughed in" as far as the body work goes. The quarters look great.

LOTS of work left but this is good for morale.

Car and the wheels look great Dave. Did you rule out the us mags slots?
