Brand new to Mopar and the Boards. Have spent days looking at the builds and figured I would start to document mine.
Long story is our family unicorn car is a 1969 GTX. My Aunt owned it and apparently it could get to SC (about 5 hours away) in an hour :^). Any rate been looking and found a spot that had several Mopars and made a deal on a 69 Roadrunner.
It was backed under a tree so I really could not get a good look at the trunk area. Not surprised but the pan is gone.
My background is GM and German cars. Have had worse in my hands. I am on the fence of trying to save the QTR's or go wide open and get new qtrs'
Here it is so far.

All in all its a solid start. The 68-70 RR and Satellite is my all time favorite, just way out of my price range. My 71 Charger 500 project was WAY worse than what you're starting out with. As far as replacing the panels go keep 2 things in mind...your budget and the ultimate goal you have in mind. Mopars can eat money as fast as they eat gas lol! Anyways, welcome aboard, there's a lot of great people and info here.

Welcome, your going to find more rust, typical rust locations, if your trunk rusted out your liable to find rear frame damage and or rear inner fender rust, mine was similar to yours in the rust locations including that rear window, Ive replaced a lot of metal in places you haven't looked yet, we are here to help, lots of advice to be found here.

Mini tub it while the pan is out.

Very restorable. Reminds me of my project only yours is is in better shape.

Thanks. Like I mentioned I always liked them, just they are not around here at all and if they are they are in worse shape that this one.The rear frame looks good actually. It has rust on the pass side wheel tub. I bought it for about what an AMD fender costs so I figure I can go into it a bit and stay in budget.
Certainly not the worst I have touched.

Started small. Had to tear down and take inventory of what was needed. Fixing spots first where I can fab the replacement. Passenger inner well had an ugly hole so cut it out and welded in another piece.
Swung by Summit and picked up some metal, Trunk pan, dutchman panel, the curved part behind the package tray, etc. Want to fix the trunk then move to the front.Front floor is pretty solid, was what drew me to the car versus the others as the rest had no floors and about the same damage behind the window.

Floor is mostly out. No surprises on the frame so that is a plus. I am really considering a spot welder now as this car has maybe the most spot welds I have ever dealt with.

Get it all, all of it, every panel and every inch of the car Media Blasted, then assess where you are and plan how to proceed. Until then, you will be chasing one issue after another forever. Just accept there is no 'saving' panels that are 48 yrs old, Qtrs are made brand new, get 'em and smile later. And, I think you're cursing my friend...that B word, Budget! There is NO budget in these areas, it's just spend and spend and spend!

I am ordering qtrs. I am blasting what is left that has not been cut out, but most of this car will get cut out. I tried to think my way through I can save this part that part etc, now it will lay on the ground.

After a quick search looks like there are a few tricks to getting the full trunk pan in. I would rather not remove the rear cross member is there any links to a detailed install?

I just did my road runner trunk pan. You can get it in without removing the crossmember, BUT, you will have to make 3 small slices in the tail panel. I made a slice on each side and one in the middle. This allowed enough flex to slide it through. Otherwise if you remove the crossmember it will slide right in. The dip in the pan is what requires the extra room.

I didn't mind making the slits as my panel actually needs replaced anyway in the future.

Thanks I actually was looking at you install and debating which method. The rear end is pretty solid so would rather keep it in tack, The three slits may be simple enough.
