1970 Coronet R/T Project (Dasfusca's Car)

I decided to recover the wires, clean and re-grease the 3 speed wiper motor. I did fake plating. I still have to but it back together.

Wiper pivots were completely frozen, so I soaked them in a mixture of 33% acetone and 66% ATF. They are loosening up nicely.

This is my wife helping me bleed the new brakes. Pump...pump....pump....hold it! Don't worry no fluid in the caps on the fender.

Always great when we can get our spouses to help a little bit with the car projects. Mine will occasionally come out as needed, but she can get grumpy if I ask her to help with greasy stuff!!

I took the steering column apart. Going to clean and paint everything. I have new bearings and coupler parts to go in.

I figured out what was wrong with my park on the wipers. This little plastic piece was broken. I ordered a new one from Ebay.

I painted the Column with Bayou Green. I gave it a little texture with less shine. I also painted parts semi gloss and flat black. I have a new shift indicator, bulbs, bearings and foam dust protectors.

Thanks to eldubb440, I now have working wiper linkage. I replaced all the plastic bushings so it should last for another 50 years.

at least one of us got busy after you left...... I went in and took a nap :(

I started putting the dash back together. The car has a cool rear speaker option. Cleaned up the connections for the fuse box. I am not sure where the key buzzer mounts.

Steering Column is finished. It's back in the car but the mounting bolts and steering box rolled clip are still lose.

Turn signal switch broke again. That little plastic piece that is always brittle. I replaced it once already. This time I replaced the entire switch with a brand new MOPAR one. I had to remove material from the flasher pull tab to make it fit. I also removed all the extra wires.

The wiper motor gave me a another problem. It would not park. A chip was out of the plastic gear and the connection was bent. I ordered a new old stock rebuild kit. The new plastic gear and directions made it possible for me to fix this thing myself. Now it works perfectly. It has 3 speeds and self parks.

Nice work. Turn signal switches are not a small job - they can be a real pain in the butt!!!

I did the wiring for the tachometer. Since my car didn't have one originally, I had to drill a hole through the fire wall for the wire grommet. I also had to ad another clip in the fuse box for the accessory fuse for the tach. Apparently if you didn't get the tach or the headlight delay you did not get a sixth fuse.
