1973-1974 Roadrunner & GTX and Satellite Pic Thread

Go Green will look great and a Bench seat is great to have for riding with your gal like the old days

X 2 If i bought another car back when we were going together, First question, "IT have a console?" lol

Mine is a bench seat base model. Now I am wondering if I should go buckets and console (most likely will) or keep my bench seat.

I like them too but with the direction I will be going buckets would be better

What direction you going? I need to look at your build thread.

Side note I talked to another guy who wants 3K for a 73 Roadrunner that has rust in quarters, floor pans and trunk pans. He couldnt tell me the original color (he building burnt down a few years ago and is selling off a bunch of cars to rebuild the building) and he told me the hood was worth the 3K itself. I just said thank you and let it go he was shocked I didnt ask any other questions. The car has a 360 in it but he has no clue what motor came in it originally.

I'm finding some good A body projects but I'm stuck on a 73-74 RR or Charger. I kind of like to do a pro-touring car and I like the body lines of the B bodies for this.

There is no build sheet with my Charger but it's not original so I can do what ever I want. Basically a clean sheet of paper

Thats right I remember now lol. I forgot....this medical coding class is kicking my butt right now.

Are you thinking pro-touring or anything like that?

My uncle has a 73 charger but needs work and I mean work. Quarters, trunk pan, trunk lid, I think fenders and floors and not sure what else. It has good parts and I think the fenders could be saved and the car is all original 318 buddy seat car. I can remember driving around in it when I was like 14 up and down my grandmothers lane to her house lol.

Cool Those are good memories

I can remember me and my cousin asking for the keys (this is in WVA on a state road, dirt road) to the Charger and my uncle, dad, two cousins, other uncle and my granddad all piling in and heading down the lane lol. The Charger road so good and it had some pep to it being just a 318 car. I would laugh my butt off as we would get it sideways in the dirt lol. I can still hear my granddad laughing and yelling out put more into it lol.

That hood has me curious, He say just what makes a 73 RR hood worth 3 K? Never heard of one worth that much money..

I like the bench seats but as far as our lady's sitting on the consoles like those good old days, I still haven't had my wife get all uncomfortable like that now ah-days! lol.. Its hard to beat the buckets and console look, Im not saying you should, just over all your Charger would look much more menacing with the interior in one of these Chargers, my opinion, is all..

Hey Ron, he didn't say when he told me the hood was worth that much I just kind of stopped talking. I asked a few questions to start off with like how bad is the rust and he said "Not sure I think it needs both quarters but it's sat outside for a while and I have not looked at it." My next questions was what about trunk pan "Not sure I think it needs it. My building burned down and I need to sell off a few projects to rebuild and build a couple cars I have started." Does it have the fender tag and vin#s "Yeah I'm pretty sure it does." That right there sent a red flag to me higher then my other questions did. I also asked what motor and if it was originally a Petty blue color "Not sure I think it was white at one time and its a 360 car but not sure if it originally was. How do I tell?" and then I said what is bottom dollar "Well the hood is worth my asking price alone." I said really, hmm ok thank you for your time and at that price its out of my range.

I think he has watched one to many Barret Jackson shows and thinks "Roadrunner" is term for high dollar car.

I like to have a good project and do some modern upgrades and I think the 73-74 cars are my best chance with that. I also fell in love with the front end of the RR and that 3K hood lol.

Around here 73/74 RR hoods are $250-$400 (max), but finding a clean one is getting pretty hard.

I looked at a CL ad 74 318 RR last night. Listed for $500. Hood was severely rusted on the lip and about 3" up and had been fixed before. Inserts were still there, and if you really wanted to, it could be fixed again. The bulge part was fine.

It was a factory black with black and white bucket, column shift interior (panels trashed, but seat cores good). The quarters were rusted, but seemed to be only rusted in the place the AMD patch panel covers. One corner cap area was rusting through, and I saw some rust through near the rear bumper mouts. Couldn't see the trunk floor as one of the doors was in ther. Deck lid was nice. Roof and dutchman were nice (non-vinyl top). fenders were dented and pass door hinge area was starting to go. I didn't feel the cowl, as I had already made up my mind to pass. It could be brought back, and it's CHEAP, but if you could afford the rehab, you could also afford a better one.

Nice folks, seemed like they might deal. I even thought about asking if they'd sell the trailer with it.

Its not a bad price but the work to put into it would be up there making this car way over budget. I like the color combo. I would like that one....Wish it was closser.

That is a nice RR but those wheels have to go.

I agree 100% and I did email asking about it. Its listed in a local used car lot booklet that comes out once a month. My uncle saw and sent it to me. Its on the high side...maybe but not sure. It is a true 360 car and I'm waiting for more info on it.

If that's a real 360 car, and if it's as nice as it looks with no hidden surprises, that's NOT BAD.

...and I LIKE that green.

I also like that green and the color combo. I wonder what green was used? Yeah I worry that there is hidden things in that car. I know I have seen that car around but until I'm out of school in august I cant even think of that one lol...but I am!

It's 74 and up Jade. G8, IIRC.

I usually se it with white. First time I've seen it with light parchment.

Those are factory colors...I'd like to see the tag.

Thanks, I'm waiting for the info and the tag info on the car. It will be interesting to see what it says.
