The guy a on the same street as my work keeps this nice little '73 'Cuda outside all year. It is a shame he does not keep it in a garage and out of the elements.
I may ask him how much he wants, but he seems like a collector (hoarder) and probably wants more than it is worth. I am guessing it is worth $5,000.00.
I've been keeping my eyes open for a cudas, barracudas, or challengers in the LA area for a couple years. I would guess just from what I've looked at and the picture you posted, that car is 20K plus in the greater Los Angeles area.
It has factory air with the original 340 engine. One fender a fiberglass replacement. I am not into E bodies, but it is a cool car and may have to pick it up for a fun driver.
That vinyl top in the elements for that long is scary. But, I've been looking so if he's a serious seller and your not interested, please let me know and we will talk more. Maybe a finders fee if you know what I mean.
I have to take a closer look, but I believe it is a 727 with floor console. I talked with him yesterday and he said a local E body guy afforded him $11,400.00 and he would not come up to his asking price of $12,000.00. I will put a note in his house door to call me about it. He knows where I work as I was looking at a 71 Sport Fury of his six years ago or more.
Hold on, I just saw your in PA., not California. That would be a hard buy for me. What kind of condition was it in? Was there any rust under the vinyl top? Under the frame? quarter panels? What was your take on its condition?
Thanks 69CoronetR/T. PM if you want to, I will be on and off all day.
It is in fair condition and I am sure it has some rust issues as it sits out in the elements. I would have to a mechanic look at it before I offered him anything. I am looking for 1968-1969 Coronets, so this 'Cuda is out of my realm. I just hate to see a cool 'Cuda rust out in front of me as I drive by it a few times a day. I would buy it and send it out to for a restoration, but then I would be upside down of the price versus value.
E body's worse than B body for rusting around the rear window.
Be sure to check that.
Barring any poor repairs or bad frame horns, At 12K it's a fair deal, and desirable both as an E body and a 340 car. Possibly more so as a "triple black" car.
I bet you could trade even for all sorts of B body cars in the same condition.
There is a 73 cuda about 5 minutes from my house that has been sitting outside for about 5,6 years now
The guy use to drive it but he let his Girlfriend drive it a few times and now the front end is all smashed up. Every mopar guy in the area has asked him about it. NFS
I drove around in it today and it needs some work. I feel comfortable with his asking price, but I am not crazy about it being a column shift automatic. Would that bring the price down? It is a vinyl top, hard top, Rallye dash, column shift automatic, a/c, 340 'cuda. Looks nice but I would send it out to a restoration shop and possible change it over to a floor console.
