Helps to have a good saw and a good Ax. Ive got a 100cc Oregon saw with a 36" Bar. Sick saw. And a old skool double edge ax for splittin timber.

More update photos later, but i was able to get back to worj. I cut the rear qtr extensions out and stared prepping the wheel houses and trunk floors. Once i fab the extensions ill POR the whole trunk floor and was thinking about doing the whole trunk in Red Durabak Bedliner.

Man, thank goodness I'm not the only one!!! I've been wondering if there was anyway to get bedliner paintmatched as close as possible to plum crazy purple for the bottom of my trunk. People have told me I'm crazy, but did you see that last episode of Mythbusters where they tested it? That is some hardcore stuff!

Very nice 69 RR convertible also, great job on both

Okay, I have been lurking this thread and have a question for the experienced resto folks. Is this approach to body restoration feasible or preferred when really a rotesserie (sp?) is necessary to get the underside? Talking mainly about a car that is not rotted through/rotted surface rust.
I would like to restore my satellite as simple as possible but the underside rust thing bugs me but knowing the expense, time, etc. hesitate to do so.

I guess what I am really asking is, why do all this if the plan is for a total teardown anyway?

Im planning a full teardown and will be blasting and fully detailing this car over the winter. On JACKSTANDS i dont own a rotissorie nor do i feel i need one. I restored my 69 on jackstands without an issue. And im fixing what needs to be out back now while the majority of the car is still together.

And for rust free, im saying the cars real solid from the rear wheel wells forward. For whatever reason the rear qtr extensions rotted out, my guess from a bad trunk seal.

And lastly i have found that my favorite means of removing undercoating is with a pneumatic needle scaler! It removes rust scale and undercoating. And the finish afterwards is awesome

Example of what ive done on jackstands..... 68 Fury III

Looks like awesome work! So you lay on your back and do that? Sorry for the dumb question. I have issues with hearing and tinnitus that would prevent me from being able to do that. Not familiar with the process either.

Yes, on your baxk, but i am.able to be on a creeper and do it. Abd hearing, i use ear protectioneye protection, etc. I have tinnitus abd arthrosis as well. Take ya time and it works.

Dude, you are an amazing individual. I am not familiar with how the tool works but besides all that, I suppose you remove gas tank, leaf springs, etc. and go at it.

What do you do for harder to reach areas where the scaler might not be as effective?

Thanks for the comment! Yes remove all the parts underneath. Clips screws, lines etc... Everything. The scaler has a throat of about 6" so you can get into nearly everywhere on a mopar. If not use some aircraft remover abd a puddy knife. Scalers are supposed to be used for removing barnicals from boats. But i find it works amazing for removing undercoating
