360 oil pan?

yeah i need to get a decent torque wrench as well. i should be getting most of the rest of my parts next month so im hoping to get started on this build process really soon. Any recommendations on a harmonic balancer or dampener? i know it has to be 0 balanced or neutral balanced but im not really finding them anywhere.
No.. i use a factory one on my 318...

That's basically a stock one.. if you want performance get a fluiddamper... i wanted a Rattler when i did mine... waited 4 months then said screw it...

will i need a different torque converter and flex plate? I'm assuming so. i have a 318 in there now. I'm unsure how they're balanced
318 is internal balanced, i assume your kit is also?

Yup.. meant internal... brain glitched :)
nice. so theoretically as long as i got the neutral damper and a neutral flex plate i could just hook the 360/408 to the 904 trans as it sits.

BTW, just so you know for the future a torque converter for external balance will have a weight welded to it

If you use the b&m style flexplate on a 904, you have to use an original starter

Didn't know that.. i have only ever had 727s.. does the snout on a mini starter hit the flexplate?

Yes part of the pinion drive hits it when it shoots out

Do you have experience specifically with the B&M 10239 having that interference problem on a 904 application?
Actually no, it would have been the 10235 for the cast crank 340. Not sure if they're the same Dia but assume so
