383 street/strip build

i went and pulled the pass side valve cover
numbers i got off that side r

Look at it real good. Might be sludged up or somethin. A 902 casting's entier number is this: 3769902
 
its clean but i will go look again ya never know

i did a search and it looks like i might have industral heads?
 
the heads are blue the block is orange so it has differnt heads
 
Color means nothing. It means the block is orange and the heads are blue. Since it's comin down, just take um off and lets see what you have.
 
i was told that orange is mag and blue is newer not as good
but the person thaty told me that is a chevy guy lol
anyhow yea i gonna tear it down in the next week or 2

Since this stuff ain't been made since 1979 or so, color don't mean nuthin. The Duke boys couldda painted it whatever they wanted. lol

even dodge didnt get the color right every time.i have seen magnums and comando's with both colors on vehicles that have never been touched.plus,like rusty said,you can paint it any color.

I think you should consider changing societies, chevy guys are not good for you:icon_winkle:

Just wanted to say thanks guys for the really good read through out the thread. I myself am thinking about having my 383 HP 4bbl bored out to 426 at my local machine shop and building my motor from there. Wish to thank all of you for all the wonderful advise and knowledge posted here on this thread. Thanks, Roadbird.

The 383 and 426 already have the same bore.
