440 A Blocks Factory 20 thou oversize?

Well 440source must be too busy to reply so we press on!

Here she is, up on the stand. All very clean under the rocker covers, no gunk and valve springs look good.

Can any of you blokes recognise if they are original or have been replaced? I suspect the engine has been rebuilt but it was likely quite a while ago. The welsh plugs are mainly all shiny brass but one has failed and I was able to punch a screwdriver straight through it.

As for the uncomonness of these 20 thou over factory blocks I think it only fair to start calling them the super-rare factory stroker/drag pack/cop/eliminator/pursuit specials......ok.:thefinger:

Slowly getting there, just waiting on parts, including an electric water pump I won on Ebay in the US from a seller called Grumpychallenger, maybe if you know him you could ask him to get in touch with me as I haven't heard a peep from him.

Gasket kit and timing gear arrive next week and then I'll start putting it back together.

I did find a number stanped into the bottom of the block at the rear near where the sump and transmission meet;

PT440P21771913

Anyone have any idea what it means? I'm thinking it's the factory serial number. I was hoping it would be the cars VIN number but doubt it.
