The 451 in my 1969 Road Runner is still running super fast! Pulling consistent 12.40s @ 110 MPH in the 1/4 mile. This is at 5600 feet. The thing really screams! My only question is: A couple times when doing the burnout, at high RPM, It would start making some popping sounds, like possibly valve float? Running the 509 cam, stock valve train, 915 heads. Would adjustable roller rocker arms, set to near zero lash, help the high RPM performance? I have some on hand. Any help appreciated.

Gary; how high RPM are you talking about? Normally popping at high RPM is associated with not enough valve spring tension, going way lean, point bounce (with a point type distributor), or bumping off a rev limiter if you have one. The steel rockers probably aren't your problem and I doubt whether roller rockers would help. Knowing how high you're revving it would help along with your open and closed valve spring pressure.
