I couldn't tell you a damn thing about a roll cage besides they use round bar, but thanks to you i'm starting to learn. Good stuff!

I'm new to them also.. Mine is from Jegs and is an 8 point roll bar, but Jegs lists it as a roll bar and a roll cage.. It will be nhra legal down to about 10 sec or so, which I doubt I'll ever get near.
The 1st thing I learned is that what I'm installing is roll bar, a roll cage has more bars. Top of the windshield, under the dash, etc., basically surrounding the driver from all sides. Here's a pretty cool link ..> http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/projectbuild/mopp_0706_rollcage_installation/viewall.html

Cert's are not required for anything above 9.9sec.

I assume you are saying you have to have the whole car certified by the nhra once a year, 9.9 and under?

WOW, got the argon set up going today on my welder. Man! What a difference!, I just wish I had started the project with argon. My welds should be works of art from now on. Can't wait to get started with it.
To tired from work now. :sad8:

Nice! You'll be glad you made the switch when you get into the rear window area on the roofline. And in the hurry I was in when I did mine, I didn't detail it very well in my thread. Remembered you asked about it though so shoot me a pm when the time comes and I can help ya out if you need it :icon_thumleft:

Every two years. You still need a roll bar for 11.5 and under.
9.9 and under you need to get licensed which = $$$$$$$$$

More roll bar work- Got my stub bars done,. these will weld to the main hoop, for the door bars and rear brace bars. The couplers will keep the hoop small enough to come out of the car when unbolted.

Yep, That would be Sissy., she is a good lab assistant.,, but she is really good at and enjoys mole hunting.
You have to really enjoy something to smile with dirt crammed up your nose.

Ditto,,, I'm sorry to some if I get off coarse with my thread from time to time, but my pups are like family to me also, and this is my thread anyway. My 1st lab, lived to be 18, I was single at the time I got her and had a lot of time to spend with her. I read a lot of books on training and listened to a lot of old hunters on how to train. One old hunter was like a dog whiperer, he taught me some very effective stuff. I taught that 1st lab to obey on thought command, well kinda, it was more eye movements. She amazed people at gatherings/partys for years with unbelievable tricks and obedience. She was an entertainer/showboat and loved the attention and praise. When she was age 9 I adopted a male lab pup, he learned all her tricks/skills without much effort on my part and would obey just like her. After the old girl past away I brought in Sissy and a couple of others showed up since her. They all have learned from their elders. But none have outdone the 1st one as far as feats of amazement. Here she is and her little brother the duck hunter.

sorry to rehijack your thread :)

Looks like they get along well. Mine are all rescues also, Seems like they make the best pets. Zeke looks very similar to one of mine. Mine are not all full blooded labs. Sissy and older brother were the only ones that were supposedly full blooded, but no papers. The lab mix ones have seemed to be the smarter ones.

Back to business, I got the rear bars going in. They bolt to the top of the hump in the trunk, right on top of the partial rear rail connection., 1/8 plate on bar foot bolted to 3/16 plate welded to frame with nuts welded under, as are all other connection points. The right side came out very good imo. I found out it's tuff to keep bolt-in stuff aligned that you weld on.
Skip approves.
