Torquey big blocks must be in style around here...I also ordered a hydraulic roller from Dwayne...238/244 @ .050, .581/.577 lift but with a 112 LSA for better vacuum. 440/495, 9.8 to 1, Edelbrock heads lightly ported, RPM intake, 2" headers. Dwayne thinks mine will peak around 5500, the OPs peaked at 5400 with 10 more cubes, a bigger cam and better heads so mine may peak earlier than we thought.
I'm excited though....Having more torque down low compared to the huge solid lifter cam I have now...that will make for a much better street car.

Your 112* may widen the curve a little. I was a little surprised mine peaked so early. Although at 5900 I was only down 14hp.

one takeaway I got from Andy F’s book is that the more cubes, the lower the rpm hp will peak with the same components. If I got it right.

It would be interesting to see the graph at and beyond peak HP. If it falls off a cliff, that isn't good but if the drop off is gradual, that is fantastic.

I'll bet you're right on that. It makes sense with the same reasoning that a cam that is choppy in a 383 may be mild in a 505.
