572 World Aluminum close to Dyno

It doesn’t make much. I put a smaller pulley on it and it makes vacuum at idle now. But it peaks about 5-6”. Not sure if it is simply because it is an aluminum block and they don’t seal as well as iron, or what the issue is?

Any testing with this car in the past has been about. 1/10th difference with or without exhaust.
The ET Genie I find makes a bigger difference. For me anyways. On the 511 it was 2/10ths even when ram wide open Vs the taper spacer, so I am guessing an ET Genie really messes with the flow/signal when compared to a tapered spacer?

Well he must be happy with the results. But the vacc seems awfully low. With the smallish cam u have I would expect atleast 8 ish. Kim

You could block the vac pump hose and pull all the spark plugs then do a smoke test and look for leaks.

I made an adapter that connects a $10 Harbor Freight air regulator to the vacuum pump fitting on the motor. Air it up to 5 psi and spray soapy water on it. If you have a leak it shows up with bubbles.

Through full exhaust, got it dialed in to a 10.007 at 134.57. 4500 air density. Muggy day.

Parts availability issues, everyone I've spoken with. I'm telling my builder invoice me for the next "things" so I can get my place in line.

No finger wag. Spoke to the track official weeks before. He knew I was dialing it in.
I went WAY conservative first Pass and it ran a 10.51. So I pulled the ET Genie and put the taper spacer back in because I didn’t think it would pick up 6/10ths! Well it did LOL.
Put the ET Genie back in and opened it right up. It ran a 9.98. About a 1/10th difference from the taper.
7 turns on the Genie and it ran the 10.00 in 3700 air density.
All through 3” exhaust. So on good air days I’ll need to tweak some yet.
Quite happy with it so far.
Motor seems to be sealing up better too. Vac jumped to 8” and less in the can after every pass. Still too much for my liking.
Learning curve.

I have to say I was concerned (for my own well-being) reading that "all aluminum engines" may have an "inherent" looseness regarding vacuum. I guess I'm probably going to want a vacuum pump and puke can on my 572, or do people run them with just a PCV valve?? (M/E Wagners-probably the best PCV valve on earth, tunable too) A forum member who has a serpentine belt and accessories system like my Wraptor added a toothed wheel? to the front of one of the pulleys IIRC in place of the trim cap? to drive the vacuum pump.
