62 Belvedere 318 poly granny cruiser (one day i hope)

Since it's 24 degrees out i went to get some antifreeze for the car this morning (it's in the garage so not worried bout it being water right now) And just a FYI.. walmart has normal non 50/50 AF for $10.88 a gallon... which seemed to be a decent deal.

Master cyl swapped, steering column back in.. waiting on the pump to test it.. recurved the dist again.. and.... #7 cyl has a header leak so bad it might as well not have a gasket... so much for $60 Percy gaskets that you can use over and over.. 1 time.. that's a fix for another day, done for now.

Ok.... power steering is on other than the lines... done for tonight though. Belt alignment isn't as good as i would like.. modified it a bit but not enough.. will just pray it doesn't throw belts.. if it does i'll fix it..

This is the bergman kit btw......

Just posting a couple of better pics in case anyone does this kit and needs to figure out the spacers (have to space the pump back off the bracket) Also cut the welded on nut off the lowest bracket that goes to the 2 timing cover bolts so the bracket will go over the back of it..

Looking great! Is that car originally from Ferndale Michigan?
Frankenmuth.. spent it's entire life there. parked in 78 til a few years ago.

Hmmm not sure why the emblem on the back says Ferndale.. gonna look at the original receipt when i get home.

K.. wow i had never thought to look into it.. Seems Masons sponsored racers in this are starting in 1960... and one guy posted that the ramchargers started there... Glad i kept that emblem.. gonna be going back on now :)

That emblem is like gold. Lol. Grew upon that area right off Woodward Avenue. Lot of history behind that emblem and the high and mighty!! Great history.
yeah i didn't know anything bout masons.. i grew up at the 8/van dyke area.. 1 of the mounting pegs is broken off the emblem. Will find a good way to mount it

Went to South elementary 11 mile and mound area. Owned a store on Stephens and Hoover. And one on 12 and groesbeck. Played hockey at Warren ice arena, Fraser etc. remember any of those?

Where did you buy the Bergman kit? I saw 440 source sells brackets also.

I'm kinda bored here (Christmas at home) so I just read your entire thread. I went through a similar situation with my 65 Belvedere. It is waiting for the trim shop to finish the interior and then I can continue with the debugging (24 miles so far) process. I started in 2009 and it should be done in 2025!
I applaud your perseverance and attitude. This can be a maddening hobby but, it is satisfying to resurrect old machinery.
Now, will there be another?
Mike
