64 Polara Gen3 Turbo Build

I noticed you backed out of your turbo setup, reading back a few pages, it seemed like you were getting frustrated that building a one off kit in a B-Body Mopar wasn't easy or cheap? Going FI, especially the turbo route is always expensive in these cars, as their is seldom anyone who has gone this route until the past five or so years. The internet truly has made it possible. My question is, you continuously beat yourself up over the obstacles of mounting your setup under hood. Why didn't you consider a rear mount? A BW S480 1.32AR would have easily made near the 950-1000RWHP mark on a 392 without breaking the bank, even mounted in the rear of the car. 99% of the fabrication issues your shop was having problems with could have been avoided. I run the BW S475 mounted in the rear, and the total cost on my 3" hot and cold side with fabrication was $300 at my local welding shop. One look under the hood with torsion bar suspension kept me away from front mounting, and my rear mount was completed in two months. I am not sure if you are on theturboforums.com or not, but you should really check out the dedicated Mopar section. If you need advice on FI, that is the place to ask.

What put the squash on the turbo was getting screwed over by a friend. I decided I didn't need to make that kind of power anyway. My 426 blower combo will make 1000 flywheel. In a 3000 pound car I'll be real low 9's, maybe event knocking on the door to 8's. There were a lot of reasons to go turbo, the biggest being controlling the power. I'm an efi tuner, so the tuning doesn't bother me. I bought 5k worth of efi goodies I really don't need now that I'm not going turbo.

I bet. I'm going to stick with the dominator setup.

The good thing about going with that setup is you will have so much flexibility for when/if you change your mind and end up going with turbos

Yeah. I am so impressed with this setup. It is crazy expensive, but being an efi tuner and an electrical engineer I can have an amazing amount of inputs and outputs.

I gotta be honest, I wish I had your knowledge of tuning! I've been interested in what can be done with these things via tuning for a long time but don't have the $$ to even think about attempting to learn how to tune.

that's a bunch of bull crap. thanks for the heads up.
spreading the word....not to buy from them.
that's unacceptable. Who cares if they do a different process than there competitors... you get what you pay for....and sounds like customer service is non existent until you put there feet to the fire.

I really have no luck when it comes to this build. The paint shop fired a couple guys this week. Car hasn't even got the base color on it yet. The motor....not here either. I don't know what I have to do to finish this car. I'm really loosing my patience w these clowns.

I would give the engine builder an ultimatum, have the engine done by the end of the week or your FIRED!!!! And REFUND every dollar!

I don't have a car to put it in at this point. It's kinda a mute point. I guess it's better sitting here than sitting there though.

My biggest concern is performance werks racing, they have had all my money and parts for my motor since March. Over 13k and they aren't returning emails or calls.

Customer contact, even if it isn't good news, is one of the most important aspects of any business relationship. I hope you hear from them soon...

I am supposed to get my motor and my car back from paint next week. Hopefully it all works out that way.
