68 GTX Resto

Here are my latest 2 planes I got a month ago. 800mm Zero and hellcat. The other hellcat is 1100mm. The think I like about electrics is: cheap, less than 100 dollars and you are flying, just put the battery in and walk out my front door and throw it in the air. Only drawback would be flight time of around 5 to 8 minutes. But if you have a bunch of batteries, land put in a new one and you are off again.

Wow! Quite the collection. I heard they had pretty short flight times, but like you said, swap out a battery.

Seems like you're quite the warbird junky like myself....

You might find these interesting. Bought'em off craigslist from a 90 year old WWII vet.
Top- Tach from a P-51D Mustang
Left- Coolant temp from a P-38E lightning
BTM Center- Pilot Deviation Indicator From B-17G
Right- Landing gear position Indicator from a B-25G Mitchell

The B-17, aka Flying Fortress, my fav US WWII plane! Had the joy of taking a ride on one a few years back.

Yeah, it was about a 40 min ride, and I'll never forget that experience! Before the flight on this old war bird, I had only flown commercial jets so it was quite different with not having a pressurized cabin, and the smell of fuel/oil inside was very cool! A very surreal experience thinking what our young boys had to go through 60+ years ago. These pics could be France in 1944!

Enjoy the extra pics

Very Awesome Fish........Talk about getting a ride in a cool machine. That takes the cake.

Have always wanted to ride in one. Just haven't put the money out to do it. On my Bucket List. Propwash, cool gauges, somehow I would mount one in my car.

Awesome stuff gents. Of the 19 or so that are still in service(B-17) there is one that flies over my house on occasion during the summer and I can hear that thing coming, unmistakable! Love the artifacts Prop, good idea for a collection. At one point my WWII model plane collection was equal to my model car collection.

Fun thing to do

I did this as well. I got to go their B-24. It was painted as "The Dragons Tail" at the time.

Check the Collings Foundation web site and it gives cost and tour dates. I got lucky as the stop in my area was only 5 mi form my house plus, I could watch them in the pattern!

69Net, easy, here in the US, there's not for profit organizations like this one that tour the country. It wasn't cheap, but it went to a good cause - keeping them flying, and was partially tax deductible, too.

Today we got the 1/4s both installed.

Fresh metal looks good Dave. Hard to tell from the pic, but did you guys attach them above, at or below the upper body line? They fit up pretty good for you?

They attach about a 2 inches from the corner on the top. They fit pretty good and didn't have to make many adjustments to them.
