Hi, all

This is a question for a newbe hopefully soon to be charger owner.

I am looking at purchasing a 1969 charger rt. (See picture).

The car has been lowered. I will want to restore it to stock ride height. My questions are about what is involved.

In the rear it has lowering blocks. Approx 3" tall. Obviously those will have to be removed and new shorter u bolts.

Is the rear axle normally above the leaf springs or below?

Will I need new longer shocks?

In the front is it just a matter of adjusting the torsion bars?

Will I also need longer shocks in the front?

Sorry if these questions seem stupid, just want to know what I'm getting into before I buy it.

Thanks for your help!

Above.

Shocks have lots of travel. Probably not, but maybe depending on what is installed.

Yes. Jack up the car to take weight off the suspension. Lube the adjuster bolts, and screw them inward until you are happy. When setting the car back down, drive it around the block to let it settle into place before stoping the procedure.

Same answer as for the rear shocks.

Front is pretty low. It's possible that the front end was dropped using lowering spindles. Typically 2". 3" blocks are pretty extreme.
Any chance you can get pictures of front and rear suspensions?

It will need a front end alignment after raising the T - bars

Car looks great! Get it if you can!

Does anyone have a picture or drawing of the stock front spindle?

I'm going back to see the car tomorrow and will check to see if it has lowered spindles.

Thanks

you're getting into a highly sought after car......... if the body isn't a patched up or smashed up mess, anything else is easily dealt with
